I too have been walking for exercize. Probably not enough. I try to get in 1/2 hr. to 1 hr. a day but have been suffering terrible with shin splints. Someone said you shouldn't walk every day and that I should stop awhile and let them heal.

Also, it is wierd. I am following the diet to the "T". Drinking tons of water but my ankles are swollen. I can remember them getting swollen when I fell off the wagon...they were my red flag. I have only eaten veggie carbs so I have no idea why this is happening. Any ideas?

Tack Candy - with swollen ankes AND shin splints it sounds like your calves/ankles may need a day off (and a good massage &/or hot soak). You can exercise some other muscles instead. Also, since I used to jog a lot when young and thin and got shin splints, let me stress that stretching before workouts of any kind helps a lot!

I am back on after 9 mos off. And I feel like ***t. I don't remember this feeling the first time around.. I was dizzy & light headed a bit. But, now the nausea is pretty bad.. Monday morning at work might be a problem.. I'm on day 2.. or 3. It feels like there is a concrete brick in my belly!!

I do remember the elated feeling I had about 1 to 2 weeks into it. Looking forward to that..

You did give alot of great advice... I'm heading back to this forum, thanks!

            Hi,

Just to let you all know, I have hit the "durn, this diet is awesome" stage. It was bumpy for the first few weeks. I honestly felt I was gaining but it was probably water retention. My ankles were so SWOLLEN! Had a major huge whooshie! this past weekend. Getting TOM must have had alot to do with it. I am starting to see the loss in the mirror and feel it in my clothes. Not sure how accurate this is but I think I am 15 lbs. down. WoOOOoooHOOoooo! Just had to tell you in case someone is feeling like they are "stuck".

That flu like symptom your feeling is the detox from sugar. It's your body craving more. Sugar detox has actually been compared to a heroin detox but not as major. It goes to show you how toxic sugar truly is.
