  • Hello I am new to the site

    I would like to introduce myself, I am new to this site but am on my second time around with Atkins!! Last summer I went on Atkins and lost 50 lbs and then my boyfriend came home and I completely got off track I stopped working out and started eating all the same junk he was eating (he can clear the fridge and not gain an ounce)! Well, I began putting the weight back on again these last couple months, and I kept telling myself that I would get back on track again but the final straw was today when I went to put on a pair of shorts that I just bought two months ago and had a **** of a time zipping them up. Last summer when I lost my weight I was so exited about being able to buy new clothes this summer so this is a really big deal for me!!! I refuse to get back up to where I was I refuse to deal with the back aches and the fact of being out of breath going up stairs, and the true killer for me was last summer being squeezed into a carnival ride and being in pain and not trying to let my friends no I was being pinched and smooched by it. SO I went shopping today and got all my low carb snacks and foods and I am going to begin in the morning!! I told myself that midnight was the cut off to my behavior of these past few months!!!
    First time around 08-01-04 287lbs 10-01-04 227lbs
    This time around 07-12-05 242lbs :bang:
    Short term Goal 08-19-75 225lbs :help:
    long term goal 05-31-06 155lbs :icon_joy:

    Go for it!
    If you set your mind to it, you can do it. And next time your boyfriend is raiding the fridge, you get your low carb snacks like hardboiled eggs, chickenwings out and munch out with him!

      Welcome to STAC!! You sound like me. Many of my clothes for this summer that I had bought last year are not fitting. If it zips it wouldnt fit. THAT was my final straw as well.

      There are a few threads here that can be very helpful to you. A measuring challenge and an exercise check in every day. Be sure to check em out.

        Welcome aboard! I personally am wearing the one remaining pair of fat shorts I had left over to use for painting around the house (and it is covered with all colors of paint now) because nothing else fits and I, too, refuse to buy more size HUGEs. I will throw on a pair of jeans when I go out, but otherwise, it's wear for a few days, wash and dry over night, wear for a few days.....

        Your story is VERY familiar to me....and I can assure you, as can most of us, that when you get started and get into ketosis, everything will be much, much better! So go for it!!!!

              Thank you for your support !! I wish it was as easy as that though !! When he is sitting there eatting a big plate of fries and I feel soooooooo cheated when I bite into a hard boiled egg !! But I am trying to win the fight!!!

                Make it a devilled egg instead of just hard boiled! yum!

                How's it going, by the way? Are you getting some exercise? Feeling the symptoms of ketosis? Drinking that water?

                I know the first few days are tough, what with temptation staring you in the face from that plate of fries, and sometimes icky induction flu.

                I'm pretty well in the routine now, and although I love the SMELL of french fries, I have no desire to eat one! Weird, huh?

                  I am right there with you on this one! I loved clothes shopping as sizes dropped. I hate it going the opposite direction.

                  I read somewhere here ( & I'm paraphrasing) you shouldn't feel deprived of things like french fries, you should feel deprived of being overweight. Be deprived of self hate, etc. Maybe thinking about things like that will help! Best Wishes!
