  • I made it through week 1!

    I am now on week 2 the STA. I must say, the FTA was no problem - but I guess I had a different goal then? Either way, my DH and this board helped so much. I was absolutely starving on Sunday, which was day 6. I wanted SO badly to have Nachos with all the fixins and extra extra cheese LOL.

    So my DH says, lets go to dinner instead of cooking today, we had a long day - and I said but I want nachos, and he said "you can have whatever you want, as long as it is healthy and induction safe" so I stewed a bit on our way to dinner but had the best steak and shrimp scampi ever LOL. I was so thankful he helped me - I only wanted to cheat because I was so hungry and it seemed quick. Not anymore, I have NO desire for those foods!

      Good Job: I too just finished week one and the other night I was craving something didn't know quite what but ended up with something good instead lol. Started at 134 now this morning 131 woohoo, first time I have been able to lose in a long time and that includes when I was going to the gym five days a week and getting almost nowhere. I did tone up so that was fine but I still want to reach my goal of 115 so I keep on plugging along. Stay strong and stay well.

          Good for you guys! Leah, it sounds like we have around the same amount to lose. I started at 139, currently 131, goal weight is 114. It seems like it should be easy, but boy those pounds are stubborn. I just finished week three and it is slow moving at the moment, but it will kick in soon. Oh, great job at dinner, Kathi. We went to Hard Rock Cafe Sunday and boy it was hard. My entire party had burgers and beer. I chowed down on my cobb salad and I just might have enjoyed my dinner the most. Yum! It is a good feeling afterward, but when the waiter asks what you want, that is the hard part!

          1st goal: 139 (earlier weight)
          what the rungs mean to me:
          rung 1 - more veggies
          rung 2 - dairy (some milk in coffee)
          rung 3 - seeds, nuts (mostly sprinkled on salads)
          rung 4 - berries, melon
          rung 5 - wine -
          rung 6 - beans, hummus
          rung 7 - other fruits
          rung 8 - carrots/ potatoes (nah, prolly not)
          rung 9 - whole grains (fresh Dutch breads...)
          Major Goal - 128 lbs/ healthy range
          (on to pre-maintenance)

            Mazal Tov (congrats) on making it thru the first week! I think that is the most difficult. After 7 days, you've got the "habit", you're in a routine, and are firmly in ketosis. MUCh easier to resist temptation and to stay on the proper menu.

            Now that you've crossed that hurdle, is there something you'd like to try to incorporate into your daily routine or menu that you haven't been as successful with yet? Perhaps water, minimum amount of exercise per day, supplements, something like that?

              i made it through week one too! Today is officially day 8, and i've lost 3.5 poudns and a lotta inches. My pants that were snug fit perfectly right now. Granted, these are pants that I had to buy because I got too big for my OTHER pants, but whatever, it'll all work out right?

              yay for making it through induction!

              I was STARVING yesterday, so I ate (no joke) 1800 calories of meat and fat and a few veggies, and man, i felt so much better. Then i lost another pound this morning. I oculdn't believe it.. ha!

                    Finelly: I allready down water like it is going out of style lol, at least 96oz but usually more, matter of fact I really don't enjoy soda even if it is diet anymore. As far as the exercise, well redoing my kitchen cabinets and its 90 degrees here with what feels like 100percent humidity sooooo I guess working out is not what I am worried about for the moment. If it ever cools down outside I will start walking the dog but she is too hot to trot at the moment .....Heat wave in New York who would have thought!

                              Morning Glory - put the pringles down and drink some water sweety!!! It really is worth the benefits! Get back on with us!

                              Finelly - Yes, I am taking Atkins Basic 3 for supplements, and I start exercising tonight. I tried to last night but didn't get home until after 8:00 pm, cooked a late dinner, had work to do for DH business (I do the books and ALL paperwork LOL), then I was pooped!
