If the post bothers you so much, just don't read it. Everyone here has questions and such and we all seek advice from each other on these, no matter what "forum" the question belongs in. If one has friends in a certain forum, then they probably feel better asking it there in case the friends don't read the other forums. I do't see what the big deal is.

So, to stay on topic with the thread and forum,

I have never done the cabbage soup diet. I am on my third try with low carb, so I don't know if that qualifies as second time around or not. i am doing better this time. 6 pounds and 5 inches on day 20.

Good luck to everyone if you try this.

      Re: Cabbage Soup Diet?

To anyone worried about not ever being able to eat bread on Atkins - have you looked in the recipe database (link at the top of all pages here)
There are several good bread recipes that are perfectly legal even on induction - the 'sweet but legal flax bread' from Book (I think) and my own 'Microwaved flax bread'. Just click on the 'recipes' link then do a search for flax to find them and several others.

When I first started induction ove 2 years ago I might not have lasted if I hadnt been able to have the odd bacon sarnie or toast under my poached eggs!!

And the spoonful or so of flax does wonders for your 'movements' too!!

In the 14-day forum there is a post with induction-legal goodies like the 'revolution rolls' and down at the bottom of the list of forums are the 'recipes' forums where you can get great ideas and ask for recipes to substitute for your old favourite foods if you want.

      Cabbage soup? No thanks!
Wondering how to get 'most' of your net carbs from your induction veggies?
Take a look at the thread from the latest Veggie Challenge to see how others manage it!

Check out our Low Carb Recipes website and add to it!!

I don't believe that Finelly meant any harm by asking that the cabbage soup diet not be discussed here any further. She is simply trying to keep the crew on the right track. And I love her for this. As one who did the cabbage puke diet, I can tell you that it (quite frankly) bites! You will have dreams about all the low carb food you ate before, the cabbage will not satisfy you in any way, shape, or form. Work the program, add back the higher carb allowed items one at a time til you know your CCL, then you will be set for life. Good Luck!

                Re: Cabbage Soup Diet?

Well, maybe not, but it seems a little bit over kill to me to post something again and again over something so simple as a conversation about another diet. We all are for for each other's support, after all, and as previosly stated , the original poster may feel more comfortable posting here instead of another forum. No laws were broken and no one was hurt. If I see a post that I don't care for I just skip over it.

Thank you to all that responded, especially psigna, Brook, and ssgswife. I really appreciate how nice you were and how willing you were to help a rookie, like me, out when I felt like I was in dire straits. You don't know how much it meant to me that you answered my questions and gave me support to make me feel like I wasn't alone.

So again, I thank you and I appreciate people like you guys.

You are most welcome. I am here because I NEED support, even though sometimes , well, most of the time, my posts are not responded to. I wanna help my fellow man (woman) anyway I can. Now, if someone could just give me a low carb recipe for Coffee Mate Vanilla Caramel (an unanswered post of mine) I would be all set!!!!! Good Luck!!!!

                      Re: Cabbage Soup Diet?

We should be more open to people posting questions in our forum. It sounded to me like Determined was frustrated and looking for someone to talk her our of that diet and maybe get some encouragement, which she did. Fin was right, this is not the forum to discuss how go about doing this diet, but I don't think anyone was harmed and maybe someone was helped by seeing it, no matter where it was posted. Doesn't sound like anyone was tempted by it .

We all know how tough this diet can be especially in induction. That's why were all here and needing support. This is a wonderful, supporting group and we should be able to point people in the right direction without being sensitive about where questions are posted.

This IS a great group and I'm so happy I found you all!

Good luck with whatever you try, Determined. I do hope you will give Atkins another try. It is tough in the beginning and it's easy to get discouraged. But you have to think of all of the good things you'll be able to eat as you move through the phases. What's even better is the thought of the control you will have over your body. Don't look at the scale, it's a liar. Alot of people lose wieght slowly, but you will lose it. That's better that keeping it. If you're not loosing what you thnk you should be, look for things that are holding you back. Cheese, splenda, diet sodas, caffeine... there might just be one thing that's causing you to loose a little slower. Try cutting out one of these things for a few days each and see if you can tell a difference. That might not solve the problem, but you'll be getting to know your body better. You'll learn how different things effect you.

Most of all, don't be discouraged! You can do this if you really want to. It takes commitment. I wish you all the luck and welcome you to this forum if you feel that we can be a support if you choose to continue the Atkins WOE!

Psigna.... have you tried mixing Da Vinci Sugar Free Caramel and cream? Might not be exactly the same flavor...but maybe close enough to make you happy.

I have used davinci syrups in coffee and they were pretty good.

psigna, sorry if I have missed some of your posts. I mainly stay in this forum but go and check the "new posts" link at the top once in awhile. Sometimes there are so many posts it is hard to get to all of them. But I always come home to STAC. It feels like *home*.

I have not trried the davinci caramel, but I have tried the vanilla. I will look for it today, but most likely I will have to order it. I hate our town!!!!! Thansk for all of the suggestions.
