    Re: Cabbage Soup Diet?

I am getting ready to place an order too psigna. Used to be able to find lots of low carb items like the syrups but one by one they have all disappeared off the shelves around here not to return.

Netrition looks like the best deal from what I have seen.

I tried this diet years ago...maybe 30 years.... it was called the Loma Linda Hospital Diet.
It was awful.... same soup all the time... makes you sick of it....
I recall that I did lose weight but put it all right back....

Just dust yourself off ssg and keep on going. I began my day, after taking dd to work and getting some groceries with a nice old scoop or so of crab for breakfast this morning. Im nursing my second cup of coffee right now. Trying to empty out a few closets today.

          I have no life.

Definately try the cream and davinci or toriani (sp?) syrups. You can mix the vanilla and the caramel.

I'm waiting for starbucks to get around to making sugar-free mocha. I can do it at home, but it's not the same <sigh>

I LOVE Starbcucks, Too bad, and I guess now that I am low carbing, good, that we dont' have one here!!!!!!!

I love the Caramel Machiatto (sp?).

I have to pick up my daughter in 30 minutes, so I think I will swing by Wal mart to check on the syrup. You can use half and half or cream in it with regular caramel ice cream syrup and it comes close to Starbucks, Will try this with the Davinci. Gosh, hope they have it, or else I'm gonna have to do another order online. My husband will kill me!!!! But, he loved the Yummy Pancakes from Linda's site today from the carbquick, so maybe he will forgive me!!!!!!

                    Re: Cabbage Soup Diet?

Cabbage soup diet is fine if you want to lose 5-10lbs in water weight to get into a dress for the week-end. Otherwise its boring, boring, boring and you will never want to eat cabbage again. As soon as you go off it the water weight will come piling back on believe me I have been there and done that..........

                        Re: Cabbage Soup Diet?

determined2succeed, I tried the Cabbage Soup diet and i guess it wasn't much different to some of the other detox diets that I've seen my colleagues do. 2-3 colleagues of mine did a version of detox diet for 2 weeks and they lost some pounds but put it back on because they went back to their old eating habits. One of them lost 5lbs at the end of 2 weeks and kept it off.

I did the cabbage diet following as suggested because I just wanted something different. I was more bored with the way I was eating rather than trying to lose weight. I did make a whole batch of soup, but I made it with a standard base ie basic ingredients and every time I had a meal I'd vary it slightly - one meal I'd put chilli powder, another a little soy, a third meal a bit of garlic. I wasn't sure if I was supposed to do it, but I did AND I did it for 2 weeks. It didn't feel so bad, I actually enjoyed it because the soup I made was very tasty and I really love veggies. And as each day of the diet was different it worked fine by me.

I only lost 5lbs, but I think that was good for 2 weeks, esp as I kept it off afterwards

*shrug* it's up to you if you want to do it - it could work for some, but it's not for everyone, just like not everyone can do Atkins.

                          Re: Cabbage Soup Diet?

I can see the true reason you want to lose weight is for you to accept the number on the scale. A diet is about eating healthy. If you think that eating cabbage for 2 weeks is healthy, you need to do a lot of research on what defines true health. I am sorry, but how dare you come in here and rant about Atkins when we all need support. You are 170 pounds, obviously eating what you want got you fat to begin with, and now you want a quick fix? I say give up the pasta for a healthier slimmer you - and if you HAVE to have it, then eat it. I doubt eating pasta will make you gain inches overnight. Your argument is based on numbers on a scale, ridiculous.

My mother is a diabetic and eats just like an Atkineer would. probelm is, we still have the choice to eat that piece of cake - work it off later. She doesn't. That piece of cake or bowl of pasta could kill her.

Quit your ranting about Atkins, unsubscribe from here, and go eat your cabbage....leave us alone and let us pride ourseleves on our good decision to eat low carb and feel great.

i loved the cabbage soup. i knew it was really healthy and it just made me feel kind of clean, but after about the 3rd day, i was kind of tired of it. i think that it's good if you want to do a detox, but for permanent weight loss, negative.

I guess my post was a bit harsh, but it really struck a nerve with me. I should have counted to 1000 before responding. I wasn't ranting or raving, just responding to a negative post with the same negative attitude. Two wrongs don't make a right...my fault for allowing myself to get so angry.
