Wow this week went by fast!

Anybody have any concerns for the weekend?

    Better yet, any fabulous plans?!

I have a meeting to attend that will last for hours on Saturdy and they always have lots of donuts but I will stop at a restaurant on the way and have a really great breakfast before I go so I wont be hungry. There is always a cooler stocked with water and I will bring an induction friendly snack to keep in my bag should I want something.

Today is beautiful and Im headed out for a walk around the track.

I hit a great bargain at the bookstore yesterday so between that and a run into Bath and Body works I have my reward for the week for keeping on plan. Will surely smell great when I am reading!! I have enough books to go me the summer and I didnt even have to bring out the dreaded plastic money to do it!

    Have a great Friday everyone!

Happy Friday everyone and great planning for your day Terry!

I am so glad its Friday. Tomorrow starts my vacation. We leave on Sunday to camp until the following Sunday. This of course will be very interesting with a 20 month old, a tent, a lake and lots of sand. If nothing else, I will be very active. Definitely looking forward to the time off of work.

There is always the concern of food. I am trying to stay strong and pre-plan every detail of the meals. I'm finally on a steady pace after working with my buddy. Don't want to screw that up. Hard part is the other people, which happen to be the older "moms" of the group. We are the kids. They want to do most of the cooking. But I have a great support system in DH and he has agreed to cook our dinners separately (thank goodness). So, I think I'm off to a good start.

How is everyone else's Friday going so far?

My real estate agent invited me over for dinner on Sunday. ARGH! I usually don't have problems telling people I'm on Atkins, but I don't want to request a special meal. Luckily, my sister really doesn't care and is going to call her and tell her that I'm on Atkins and find out what she is planning on making and letting her know what I will and will not eat. And my sister's not even on Atkins...she just is concerned about keeping me in line.

Weekends are more difficult for me. I guess it's because I'm out of my routine. I usually eat a little too much extra carbs on Saturday and Sunday, and it often costs me by weigh-in day

What are you plans for weekend? Anything we can help you with for suggestions?

                Hey all....

First I want to say what a great sister you have there Nikki!! Luckily, I am blessed with a sister like that as well - who coincidently lives in Denver as well.

I always struggle through the weekends, but always seem to escape the temptations and make it through to mondays.

I am going to the Syracuse National Antique Car show on Sunday. It is at the New York State fairgrounds. I will be able to walk around in the sunshine, and get a lot of exercise to boot.

My partner has something secret planned for us tomorrow.....but assures me we will get lots of sunshine and exercise as well. I can't wait to see what we are going to do. ( They are on atkins as well )

Hope everyone has a wonderful and safe weekend.....

Good morning! I slept LATE! Wow!

Weighed self this morning to see if yesterday's was just an off day. Nope. Stil 212.5. <shrug>

I'm a bit stiff because I did so much walking yesterday. Today is a rest day re: cardio, but I am going to do yoga and stretching for an hour.

THis weekend is HUGE because the new Harry Potter book comes out at midnight. I will wait until tomorrow a.m. to pick up my reserved copies (2 - 1 for me and dh, 1 for kids!) and probably spend the weekend reading! So this afternoon I'm making devilled eggs, chicken wings, and other "nosh" foods to eat while I'm reading. (I will exercise tomorrow and Sunday, too!)

I'm feeling really good. My dh said my waist is more defined. I know I'm losing inches in my legs. My weight on the scale is annoying. But, you know, I have to put that in perspective. It's not like I've GAINED. It's not like I feel draggy and icky. If it takes me a year to lose 20 lbs, so be it. I don't know of any other woe that will make me feel this good AND cause me to lose faster. So there!

                  Nikki- your sister is awesome!
Sarah - You're gonna do great on vacation! You are so lucky to have a husband who is such a partner for you! KEEP HIM!
Terry - I love the way you pre-plan to pre-empt those doughnut temptaitons!

                    Good Morning Finelly!

My daughter has been trying to get me to read the Potter books and I keep putting it off. She is waiting with baited breath for her copy of the new book too. I just may dig into them this fall after I finish reading all the books I collected during this past couple of trips to the bookstore.

The donuts I can stay away from but they used to bring me a bagel slathered in cream cheese so I had to ask them not to do that this time around. Im not all that hungry any more so that helps too. Love Love Love Ketosis!!

Sarah, I miss camping. We havent been in about 3 years and I love to camp.
Nikki, That is really nice of your sister to do that for you.
Jesteroo, whatever those plans are... Have a great time!
Shannon, Congrats on that long awaited pound loss! Hard to wait so long in between. Maybe this is the beginning more loss for you.

I know, my sister rocks! Whenever I go to her house, she has atkins snacks ready. Last weekend we went to Aspen and spent the night on Saturday night. She brought a cooler with water, celery sticks, chicken salad, and sliced meat and cheese. She's more prepared than I am! And whenever she eats something non Atkins in front of me, she'll always say it tastes horrible so I won't be tempted (I know she's lying, but its nice of her). She always tells me its not worth it. I wish everybody would have the support I do!

Terry - I scoffed at Harry Potter for a long time, until one day at the beach I ran out of books to read and picked up a friend's copy of the first book. Three hours later, I left the beach, went to the bookstore, and bought the rest of the books! (There were 3 of them then....) The rest is history! You shoudl DEFINATELY try the first book!

Nikki, I want your sister! My husband (dh? What is dh?) is very supportive, but he is military and gets all his exercise! He is very fit and I know he doesn't quite "get it". I think your sister might really "get it". Yay, for you!

My sister has always been thin and healthy and works out. She totally "gets it". She is even always asking if I am exercising, how much, etc. And she does it in a nice supportive way...not a lecturing way or anything. Maybe as time goes by your husband will see your results and will "get it" too. It did take my sister some time to learn what I can and can't have and how it all works.
