  • I have noticed something from last time

When I was on Atkins the first time I noticed that my skin was very dry in certain places. On the underside of my lower arms and the front, lower third of my calves.

    Weird.

It is happening again. I am drinking a gallon of water a day and getting flax every day so why does this happen do you think? 4 months in last time hubby took me away for a nice weekend and it included a hot tub. Which managed to irritate the daylights out of my legs they were so dry. Forget irritate... It really stung when I got in the nice soapy hot water. And I find it hard to get enough lotion on them.

Any feedback on this or is just me being different?

That is strange, given the amount of fat we eat and the fact that you are using flax seed! I haven't heard of this.......but I will do a search on the net later to see what I can find.

The palms of my hands get dry like that usually when I'm about to whoosh. I get so dehydrated and no amount of water helps. It's quite odd. Drinking more water seems to work for me.

Is it constant like that, or just some of the time?

I'm with Finelly on this - this is a new one to me!

I'd be interested to hear if it continues and what, if any, solution you find.

I never found a solution last time but after I fell off the wagon it went away.

I am drinking a gallon of water a day and that is a little more than what is suggested for my weight. Flax every day also.

To keep it under control, I have to be religious with the cream and it cant be a perfummy one, I even used vaseline during the winter. I did see a few posts while researching with some homemade creams for dry skin so Im going to try one of those.

          Just weird I guess

I know you probably know this but maybe you should see a dermatologist? Maybe a vitamin deficiency?

Hum...I wonder if it is some type of allergy due to eating something that you don't normally eat when you're not on this program.

Please update us when you find out.

Re: I have noticed something from last time

I am SUPER creaming and it seems to have gone away for now. Ill be curious to see how it is when the weather gets cold and the humidity is much lower. I have been putting some olive oil on it from time to time. Also helps your cuticles if you are so inclined to smother them with the stuff daily.

It was just weird to have it again after last time. So it seemed that it had something to do with what I was eating. Time will tell. <shrug>
