Hi Are you on induction? Cashews are not allowed until the Nut Rung. The shakes and bars are highly discouraged because they tend to stop/stall people. The purpose of induction is to create a habit of eating whole and natural foods. The OWL rungs will help you re-introduce other foods back into your WOL gradually.

You need more veggies. Remember up to 3 cups/day. Other than that, doesn't look too bad.

Debbie's right about the nuts and the junk-food bars. Nuts are to be added in during OWL, and the Atkins bars are just junk food. Anything that requires a degree in chemical engineering to pronounce the ingredients of is - not to mention the fuzzy math for the sugar alcohols (which I'd suggest doing some reading on - cuz for most of them the calorie count/carb count/glycemic load is comparable to sugar).

I'd definitely suggest adding more veggies- and I'm not a big fan of the "3 cup rule" - I'm a big believer for measuring/weighing your foods and sticking to net carb counts (net= minus fiber ONLY). But more veggies are definitely in order, and you'll find fresh veggies versus canned have more flavor

I hear ya, Natasha. No one here got fat eating veggies. LOL But if you continue to do what you've always done, you'll always get what you've got.

The truth is that you have to relearn how to eat. You'll find as you progress through this WOE that your tastes will change. Not only that, but you'll start to learn to view food as the fuel for your body that it is.

I had attitudes and views concerning the majority of veggies just like you do - but if you take the time to go through the recipe sections, you'll find that there are ways you can prepare various veggies that you never thought about that you will find edible. You can do it - you really can. This is one of those things where you'll find...it really IS in your head.

I hate salad, too. What I have found is this: melt butter or put olive oil in a pan and heat. Dump in 2 cups of raw spinach. Stir until the spinach is JUST wilting. Pour out onto a plate. Now you have two choices: add a tiny drop of vinegar or some lemon juice and eat just like that, or add some crumbled feta cheese. I eat it every day and it gets me thru the 2 cups of green leafy stuff so I cna then have a cup of zuchini or something!
