Tonight has been awful, I've come soooo close to eating a poptart or a bowl of cereal. I did so good the last two days, I hope I can stick this out and I hope this feeling of wanting to eat something I can't have goes away soon. Any suggestions???
Eat a high fat snack when that happens. Induction flu is awful, and day three is right about when I get it too. I ate sliced cheese and celery and cream cheese when the munchies got me. I also bought pickles and olives. If you feel like you need to eat, eat something legal.
During the first part of induction i tend to eat my head off. It makes it easier to not have the cravings if you're eating every time you have one. I ate 5 meals one day I think! Make yourself a hamburger patty, or eat that leftover chicken. Tuna fish with lots of mayo! calories don't matter, and it'll help you through.
that's my advice.
Also, getting away from the house does wonders. It gets you to stop thinking about it, and tha'ts always nice. Just go for a walk, run an errand, etc... If you can't leave the house, go cook something, go clean your bathroom, go fold laundry. Run up and down your stairs. Get immersed in a book.

I agree with everything knicknack said. When the high fat snack doesn't take my cravings away for something sweet I will sometimes munch on some jicama. It's sweet. Or if all else fails I will make me up a small amount of cream cheese, a little splenda and a dash of unsweetened cocoa. A couple little tastes of that usually squelchs my urge to go eat the entire candy cupboard (my db is not on Atkins...so he still has a cupboard full of treats)
I hope your cravings pass swift for you.

You CAN do this! If you can just get thru this bout of what may be the beginning of induction flu then its going to be SO worth it! Remember this is your body trying to get out of the detox you are going thru by making you crave all the things you no longer want to eat.
I second or rather I guess third by now..... after both Knicknack and Weighless... eat something high in fat and get away from the foods that are calling your name thru the cupboard doors. A good movie.............on the vcr/dvd (no food commercials), a book in a hot tub, a long walk or some time with an exercise video.
Anything to get you thru. Hang in there. This does pass.
Everyone has given marvelous advice. Recognizing the craving and the need to resist it, as you have done, is the first step. Asking for help is the second. TAKING the advice (lol) is the third!!!! Pick at least one thing suggested and do it.......and remember, this, too, shall pass!!!!!
You have come so far in the last few days. Don't blow it! Feed that craving with FAT. Hang in there and remember that pretty soon, those cravings will be few and far between, if you just keep your focus!!!!!

I did it, I made it through the night lol. Thanks to all of you for the wonderful advice. The sweet craving just kept nagging so I did have a Atkins shake but thats when I closed the kitchen and watched 50 first dates and fell asleep. I feel much better this morning and actually I'm down another 2pds!!! Thanks agin to all of you
Hi Rhonda,
Way to hang tough. Good for you. I have cheated with a pop tart before myself. What a waste. I only keep them in the pantry for the kids because I am not tempted by them. So, you know the craving are bad when I start on the pop tarts.
Be prepared tonight. It is going to happen again. Have something yummy and legal standing ready.
