  • Rotten Jicama...

My jicama was yucky on the inside! So how can you tell if your getting a good one? I did mix up some sour cream, cream cheese, sf lemon jello, and some whipping cream and made a pudding like stuff that taste just like my grandmas lemon cheese cake, minus the gram cracker crust. Pretty tastey though but next time I think I will "bloom" the geletain first before adding it in, kinda grainy.

I HATE it when that happens. I took one back a while ago. They replaced it. Im not sure really just what to look for when purchasing a jicama. Its a crap shoot with me, but for the most part they have all been fine.

A fresh jicama has a nice fresh, not discolored tan skin. The more blemishes the less fresh it is. It should be hard like a potato

Jessesmomma, your recipe sounds delicious. When we get to the nut rung, we could have almond crust with it, do ya think.

It was actually Finnellys (might have misspelled that name, SIA) recipe I just added a few things lol. Now I bet that would be good! Thanks for the heads up on the jimaca, gonna go find me a good one today.
