  • Day Five Check-in

today was a take it slow day.I went to the park and did a leisurely walk with my twin sister for about an hour around the track.Mon-Friday I'm really gonna kick it up a notch cause next wednesday(august 3rd) is my first weigh-in and I don't want to be disappointed so it's gonna be about an hour and half to two hour workouts for the whole week.Walk for an hour on the treadmill and then upper body and stomach exercises for about a half hour to an hour.I really really want to reach my second goal weight by my birthday(august 31st).One of the gift I'm getting is a bathing suit cause I'm supposed to start learning how to swim.Wish me luck that I can lose 45 pounds by my birthday.Crosses fingers.

P.S anyone who actually lost that much weight please reply and let me know how you did it.thank you thank you!~~

P.S.S. If it wasn't for this WOL and WOE I wouldn't even entertain the thought of actually going to the gym!!!!TY Dr. Atkins and people of the Board.

I wish you success with your goal. It sounds like you have an exercise plan to help make it come true.

Some can, but I cannot set goals with dates as I have found that my body will lose as it sees fit. When I set a date to lose a certain amount of weight, and I dont lose it, I am disappointed with my results so this time around I am just letting my body do its thing and as long as I am eating correctly I will lose. For me this is another reason to stay off the scale. I dont want to return to the scale addict I once was.

Probably better to set a SIZE Goal than a weight goal.

For example, my goal is to wear a size 14 by the end of August.
        Started Atkins 2d time 6/20/05
        218/187/140
        Measuring every 2 weeks
As of 10/31/05, losta total of 56.75 inches!

Minimum 45 min cardio per day

ok along with my weight goal(I haven't stepped on the scale but I soooo want to see 175 again and on my birthday...sob...but I won't beat myself up if I don't).

My twin sister bought me a bunch of name brand clothing for when I do lose more weight.I fit into lane bryant size 14-16 perfectly, but not so perfectly with name brands like calvin klien etc.well she works at Lord & Taylor and that's all she bought me.DKNY and Calvin klien(sp?).They are size 14's and X-L but even though I fit in them they don't look that great,so my goal is to fit into this really cute DKNY mock-sleeveless black shirt by my birthday(August 31st).I realize that 175 will be tough for August 31st so I actually modified it to 175-185 to give me leeway.Oh but how I would love to see 175 on the scale. My twin sister is 172(5ft. 3inch) and wears anywhere from an 8-11.I'm 5ft, 4inch but I'm an hourglass whiles she's a guitar shape.I'm hoping that when I do get to that point I look as good at that weight as she does.

I predict you will fit into the cute shirt and anything else she bought you. You have plenty of time and are doing so well!

Hun just concentrate on how good YOU will look and feel rather than trying to measure up to sis's size. You said it yourself, you are different shapes. Celebrate your accomplishments. You will look great!

Just wanted to pop-in and say good luck on your goal!!

Don't get disappointed if you don't reach exactly that weight by your birthday. As said above, just focus on how you feel. You should keep in mind that with the amount of exercise you plan to do, you may build muscle (which is great), so you might not see a huge change in numbers right away, but you will see a change in inches. Have you measured yourself? That will really help.

Poppin in right behind Sarah, I went from 270 down to 220 but unfortunately popped back up to 230 before I found this group. The best and fastest way to lose weight is to follow Dr A's plan. That just about everyones secret. READ THE BOOK, read the book again. Also, if I were you I would think about some kind of weight training. The reason I say that is because while your losing you'd also be toning and shaping and firming.
                  Think about it.
