  • Need a KICK in the Butt

    Yes, I got the kick in the butt yesterday from myself! We were headed to the DE State Fair and all my shorts that I fit easily into were in the laundry. The size 10 shorts purchased last fall as an incentive to lose those last 20# were in the drawer, and still fitting as snug as they did last fall.

    I put them on anyway, DH assured me that they looked *fine*, but I didn't feel comfortable in them. Off we went to the fair, but it was during the Horse Pulling Contest that I did some people watching, and thinking. Boy there were lots of heavy, and very heavy, and way-too-heavy women, but occassionally I saw a thin, healthy looking older woman.

    And that's the shape I want to be in, thin and healthy, yet for the last year---Aug '04 to now--- I have sat at this weight. Now, on one hand that's an accomplishment cause I have maintained a 40# weight loss, and EVERYONE around me knows that I low-carb the Atkins way, but I need to move to that thin, healthy looking woman that's in me.

    So, I hope this is the place to post that I'm starting again, second time around.

    Well, welcome aboard!!!!! You have found the perfect place to hang out! I swear I would not have made it this far (starting week 6 tomorrow) without this forum on this board....

    So, let's see. Measure yourself tomorrow morning. Use mybodycomp. com. We are in the middle of a tape-measure challenge, but you can start in the middle.

    We are also in the throes of a "Gallon challenge" where we are trying to drink a gallon of water (128 fluid oz) per day. You can check in on the thread for each day.

    We also do a daily exercise check-in, so there'll be a thread for that each day.

    Any problems, questions, just post-em. And there are plenty of buddies available to pm with, too!

      It definetly is school mom and WE WELCOME YOU!

      It sounds like you have a great attitude and these last 20 lbs will be a synch for you to loose as long as you keep believing and posting here and staying strong...

        Yep we are one great big family here that is growing every day. Welcome to STAC homeschoolmom!

        Finelly filled you in on what we have to offer here and its all good. Be sure to check out the stickeys at the top of the forum for some great information. Sometimes a refresher is all we need.

        You did very well to maintain for almost a year. That in itself is something to be proud of! Thats great!
