    Buddy up

    Desertthorn made a suggestion awhile ago and I keep meaing to create a thread on it. I think it is a really good idea!

    From time to time we lose touch with one of our STAC friends. Then being the mother hens we are, we begin to worry and usually they are there but just busy with life. But sometimes they are struggling and dont feel like they can post. A buddy may be the answer to this problem.

    I have kept touch with Finelly from time to time and it has helped me. Especially when the board changed over and we had no place to connect each day. There are also times lately that I cant get on the board for some reason or another. (Wonder if their server is having trouble?)

    So, if anyone is interested in being a buddy or getting a buddy please post and we can hook you up. You can either post here or send me a PM. I can hook you up and email addresses can be exchanged between buddies.

    Lets work to keep in touch because it is when we are struggling and not posting that we need help the most. BTDT

          It really is helpful. I have been buddies with Dragonflymoon for a while now and it has really helped with accountability. We have pretty much the same stats, so it is encouraging/motivating to see one of us losing weight - which right now has been her. So, I'm working harder to catch up!

                  well, I am interested. I have to say while I can't be on this board everyday I do check my email a lot. so, I think a buddy thing would be really great.

                              Ill keep this going for the week and see what I have for a list and divy up names.

                              Is that OK with everyone?

                              Im glad that this took off and really think it will be a good thing for everyone.

                                          Yes maybe the buddy program would be better than the mentor program. I tried being a part of that, only to have my charges disapear off the face of the earth. No answer to my PM's, can't find them anywhere...then I see them posting away on the boards. Weird! I gave up on the mentor thing right then and there hahaha don't want to have to chase anyone around who doesn't WANT to be a part of it all!

                                              I didnt realize there was a mentor thing? Whoops! Its too bad it didnt work for you. You can only help those who want the help.

                                              I was buddying once on another board with someone who just fell off the face of the earth and when she returned it was like I never existed. So I guess it is a crap shoot but for the most part everyone seems pretty sincere here in this forum.
