  • Happy Wednesday Check In!\

    Halfway thru your week already!

It is a day of running errands for me that ends with a trip to Old Country Buffet for a dinner meeting.

Im going to fit in a run around the mall for a good walk to get in some extra exercise. DD will be with me and we always have a good time together. We will be picking up the new Harry Potter book while we are there. Wont be able to count in her for much for a day or so once she gets that book! She is my not so little anymore speed reader and it is a constant battle keeping her in books. She wont stop to sleep until she finishes Harry Potter! (Will definately be catching up on her chores today first!)

    How is everyone doing today?

    Hi everyone! Happy Wednesday.

Terry, sounds like you have a full day planned!

Well, today I am feeling unmotivated and just plan frumpy. Trying to move past this feeling but having a difficult time of it. I don't know what the deal is. So don't mind me if I sound a little grumpy today. Wish I had stronger (or any) willpower. Does anyone else have this problem?

Hope everyone has a good day!

Good morning! Good morning! Hi Terry & Sarah!!!

I'm happy because this is Day Three of doing Induction again and it is just rolling right along.

Just think, this weekend we'll all be a little thinner than we were last weekend...and this time next month we will all be thinner than we are today! Yippee!! I can't wait until my clothes fit a little looser! It really puts a smile on your face, ay?

I hope you will have a wonderful day!

The other day I was feeling the same way and have no idea why. There seemed to be a bit of a cloud over my head all day. That night I was in and out of the kitchen looking for "something". I OD'd on spaghetti squash over the course of the day but other than that white knuckled it thru my day. Woke up the next day feeling much better. Have no clue what was going on but glad it went away!

I am also pretty sure that menopause is rearing its head as I can cry at the drop fo a hat or a sappy commercial. Flash backs of my mother. Grrrrrrr

Im sure this is coming into play for me.

Thanks for the well wishes Terry. I'm going to fight my way through it. But these days do not make it easy.

                  Great perspective Kat! -

                    Good morning!

First I want to report on my evening yesterday. Dh and I decided to go on a date and instead of a movie, he suggested one of the local Indian Casinos, which has a great buffet. I was absolutely stunned. Not only was there a fantastic amount of Atkins-friendly entrees and side dishes (roasted herbed veggies, 8 salads pre-mixed plus several types of lettuce and condiments, endless varieties of beef and chicken) but the dessert bar had a whole section of sugar-free desserts. I went to look, but it was mostly things like cherry pie, so I asked the guy behind the bar if there was anything low-carb. He said "oh, sure, I'm just about to refill this area, can you wait a moment?" and I said yes. As he worked, he talked to me. He said that the pastry chef did Atkins or is doing Atkins himself, and has prepared a variety of desserts I could eat. Low and behold, he pulls out sugar-free creme brulee, some different custards, and some cheesecake. Well! I had a small piece of low carb cheesecake after being assured it had exactly the same ingredients I use here at home, and it was yummy! SO nice to go to a dessert bar and actually find something with only 2 carbs!!!!! I was surrounded by sugary, carby delights, but did not feel left out at all. Or tempted by anything.

Ok, so now on to Wednesday. It's another lovely day, and I feel pretty good except for this silly cough. I have to do school registration stuff for my daughter, and will work out - either htis morning, or this evening when there's another aqua aerobics class. I also MIGHT do some work around the house, since several straight days at the beach means, well, nothing has been done in the way of straightening up or cleaning, lol

Terry - I disappeared into the Harry Potter book. Should take your daughter a full day, if she reads at the speed I do. And then she will walk around in a daze for awhile, lol

Sarah - I get that feeling sometimes. It's the key for me to do something nice for myself that doesn't involve food. I also find that a bit of exercise helps, as does just moving through it, telling the nasty feeling to "shut up". Just remember, feelings are feelings, they are neither actions nor permanent.

Kkat - woo hoo! You're doing great! And what an attitude!!!!!!!!!!!

I wish I could attribute my emotionalism to imminent menopause. But I have always been a person who cries while reading, cries at commercials (Hallmark does me in), and finds the oddest things deeply moving. However, here's a thought: if we have habitually covered or buried our emotional tendencies with food, and we are now no longer addicted or succombing to that addiction, well, then, those emotions will be closer to the surface. Whether we like it or not!!!!!

                    Have a great day, everyone!!!!

So tired. I have to go to school, meetings, thesis proposal defense (not mine!) and then run experiments all night.

Up a pound and a half from yesterday for some unknown reason. Well, this is why you shouldn't weigh yourself every day! ;-) I totally did NOT cheat yesterday, so plbbbbbbbt.

Ill have to be sure to check out the buffet I am going to tonight and see what they have. I dont usually go near the dessert section. IF I want something sweet they always have no sugar added whipped cream and I get a bit and sprinkle some splenda on it.
