  • OK So You Cheated!

I know that there are a few of us who fell off the wagon recently and are having a hard time coming back. Maybe you ignored the board for a few days while you went to carb h-e-l-l and back...maybe you are afraid to come back and admit a small backslide. You know what guys? This is what this board is for, another chance to get it together. We are human and stuff happens sometimes but if you don't keep trying, you will never get the carb monster under control. It can be done, its a gradual process for some. You have to relearn how to eat.

Come on back...we really all understand what you are going through and are here for you! We aren't here to beat you up, just help you get back on track!

Now that is what STAC is all about!

It aint easy. And we can't fail unless we give up trying. Keep trying and let your board friends help.

      Re: OK So You Cheated!

I echo what Star and Terry say. This is not a forum where you have to be letter-perfect in order to get support. This is a forum where we recognize the pitfalls, have struggled with them, are winning, sometimes falling off, coming back, and trying again.

It's important that we all recognize that posts from those who are not doing as well as they hoped in the cheating area, or who have tried to get back on and fallen off once or twice, WHILE THIS IS HAPPENING, are really, REALLY important. You know how stupid you feel when you fail, and embarassed, and alone? Well, wouldn't YOU feel better if there were posts on this board form others in the same position? So you'd KNOW you aren't alone, and you'd KNOW you have buddies to try again with?

It can't happen unless you're the one to do it.

Darnit, if y'all don't stay in touch, I'm gonna go eat a Little Debbie Zebra Cake SOLELY for the purpose of being able to come back on the board and post about it and my efforts to not repeat. And you don't want me to do that, I promise!

                Re: OK So You Cheated!

Now hopefully we will get a few of our family members trudging back in soon! Hey I had to do it! I lost almost all my weight in 2003, then backslid when my step dad died and have been struggling ever since. Didn't feel comfortable on any other forum because...well lets just say I didn't...and leave it at that. Here I felt I could admit that I fell away from the program a wee bit, and that I was struggling without being beaten by the Atkins book. It made me accountable...and it made me WANT to succeed. I am not saying I am perfect...cause I eat too many pork rinds, and have too much cream at TOM time, and gain 3 pounds of water as a result...but at least here....I know there are many of you going through the same struggles. We will succeed at this together! Bring it on back sisters/brothers!

                  Re: OK So You Cheated!

Well said guys! We are the second time around club for a reason!

                  So, I will start.

My name is Sarah and I am a carbaholic. If I am not careful, I will eat way to many of those evil things. It does not take much to cause my downfall. Stress, failure at pre-planning, and of course, absolutely NO will power. I'm working on these issues and each time I fail, I learn from that failure.

So, long story short. I have recently fallen off the wagon. I feel crappy about it. I know that this way of eating works, I know it is best for me (results are usually obvious). Things are moving a little slower this time around, so results are not coming as quickly. I hold on to this board as my lifeline. I will not stop coming here, because when I do - that will be the end of my attempts. I cannot allow this.

So, picking myself up, dusting myself off and climbing back on this wagon. I don't care if it takes 20 more attempts. I will succeed at this. So, this week I am researching some new recipe ideas and planning my week for success. I am reviewing my exercise routine and incorporating new activities. I will pre-plan my heart out for this next week.

Thanks for listening my lovely STAC family members.

Its tough, I keep makin excuses...its always something and then I think I'll' just start tomorrow.

But I keep coming online and I know in my heart one of these days I'm gonna be saying I made it thru cheat free.

Sarah - thanks for posting. I have a couple of questions for ya.

When do you tend to cheat? Under what circumstances? Morning, afternoon, evening? Tired, lonely, angry, stressed? Are there triggers?

Besides exercise, what else have you been able to keep doing? Water? Good carbs? Fitday? etc?

You are so determined, and I know you are going to make it. The very fact that you keep picking yourself up and coming to the board is a success. We're with you the entire way!

Yeah you can do this! I always have to stop and ask myself this question before I stuff my face with something bad...."What do I want more? My health and a thin sexy body that I had before? Or that piece of chocolate crap?" It seriously does make me think...(and put down that chocolate). Just a tip for ya babe!
