    Good Morning!

    Another beautiful low humidity day here! I have slacked a bit on my water for the past few days so my focus will definately be on getting it in today. Funny how you can feel it in your hands pretty quickly when you arent getting enough in. Im ready for a nice walk this morning and a day of shopping and meeting a friend for lunch at Applebees. I love the salads there.

    DD made cupcakes the other night and not once did I even think of getting into them. Thats kind of a nice feeling.

      Happy Friday!

      Well, as I'm sure you will all see in my other post, I'm having a tough week. But, I'm trying to look ahead, do some pre-planning, do some soul searching and move past it.

      I did get my exercise in yesterday, which was a great feeling. Looking to add in some Taebo next week.

      I was inspired by reading Isyiaf's onederland post on the Main Atkins forum. I then decided to check out her journal as she mentions. Very motivating. For those having stalls or just feeling on the outs about things, highly recommend that you scope it out. She also does an exercise challenge. Have not looked at that yet, but I plan to. Always good to see what successful people are doing. And she has definitely been a success! She looks so great!

          As for me....Im doing great.....12 days and cheat free..... got to get back on my regiment of exercising back other than that doing ok.....Going to the bf house this weekend so I got everything packed including my goodie bag

              Today there is a box full of doughnuts staring at me in the face at work and I did not take one. Of couse, they are still sitting there but I am NOT going to have one! Today is day 2 for me on induction BTW. ~~Linda

                Hi, everyone! It's good to be able to have time to post, and read posts here. I had a small, but wonderfully motivating day yesterday. I have been doing rung one of owl since I finished my two week (re)induction and its been about a month so far. I have lost about 5-6 lbs... on a good day... but yesterday while shopping for board shorts I fit comfortably into a size 9. That is outrageous!

                Its been hot here too, so I've been to the river a couple times a week. My friends are noticing that I am smaller... That makes it okay the scale doesn't move.

                  Good morning! I had a good night's sleep, finally, still coughing, but less so.

                  I've been reflecting this morning on where I am and where I'm going. One of the best things about this woe for me is that in general, once I start and get into ketosis, I am just not really tempted by anything. Sure, every now and then I think "oh, a glazed doughnut would be nice", but you can take me into a donut shop and I won't even consider eating one. I gather that it's a real blessing, so I'm grateful!

                  I also just really enjoy the food. I'm convinced that whenever my body has craved carbs like potato chips before, it's really just a craving for the fat. Same with popcorn. fat and salt. So automatically, now, when I feel that sorta nudgy feeling, I grab the cheese or something, and it goes away in seconds. My body is starting to re-translate that faulty message.

                  I've now been exercising regularly for almost 6 weeks. I am in better shape than I have been in 8 years - probably as good as I was when I was thin. I can't say that my body is craving the exercise, as there are still days when I go to the gym grudgingly, but by the time I'm half-way through, I'm loving it.

                  Yesterday, for lack of anything else to wear (I think I've mentioned that the laundry is not done? <g>) I put on a shirt (size extra large, regular women's sizes) that I wore when I lost all that weight last year. It was too tight to wear on the fourth of July this year, but yesterday, it fit perfectly. So obviously, 11 lbs lost means nothing - it's the inches that count!!! I KNOW I never would have bought it last year when I weighed 207! I was still wearing size 18 then!

                  So what are the negatives? Well, in my imagination, I should weigh about 190 by now. But my imagination is scarcely reasonable - last time around, after 6 weeks, I weighed about 200. lol. And who cares about the bleeping scale? And on a hot night, I'd really like to be able to go to Baskin Robbins. But frankly, although it sounds good, I recall distinctly the icky sugar feeling afterwards, and I'd rather have the energy and general good feeling I have now, even when it's hot.

                  As I think about where I am and where I'm going, I'm reminded of the saying "wherever you go, there you are". I'm here. Exactly where I'm supposed to be. Learning patience, learning to treasure the successes and the way my body reacts, loving every second of it.

                      Good morning all you wonderful Atkineers!

                      Isn't it a great day to be alive! (giggle) I'm just so excited about how little time it takes for this WOE to start kicking in. The best news...my husband (who is a die-hard sugarholic) has emailed me this morning that today is the FIRST day that the vending machine didn't call him as he walked past it going into work. Yeah! I'm so happy that it is working for him and he's giving it a try.

                      jdechand, I was reading your post and was curious as to what sizes you were wearing before you started Atkins?

                      You are really a great bunch of people and it is so encouraging to read everyone's posts.

                      Thanks for sharing a part of your life with the rest of us!!

                        kkat- Well, before I started atkins 2 yrs ago I was a size 16 or so.. now I am a 10.. last summer, it was an 8, and then I got married and well... gained about 15 lbs this year. whoops.

                          Wow jdechand! You've really went down some sizes. That is so cool! I can't wait until I get out of the 20's (I thought I'd never get here and here I am).
