  • Do, or do not. There is no try.

    Hi there,

just wanted to say hello and introduce myself. As of today I've started my last low-carb WOE ever - I'm going to make it, come what may.

Thanks for the STAC, what a great idea

I've started re-reading DANDR, the low-carb support newsgroup and lots of useful pages in the last days, browsed though many threads here, found good ideas, inspiration and sound advice - just what I need to chance my life... and will check back soon.

    Welcome to STAC yemenitegreen!

You have come to the right place. Be sure to check out the stickys at the top of the forum for some really helpful information.

We have a few challenges going on that you may be interested in joining to help keep you on track. (Water challenge..... drink a gallon a day, measuring challenge.... we measure every 2 weeks and keep track by adding them to the sticky at the top of the thread to see how many inches we can lose together.......just take your measurements and post them at Mybodycomp.com)

Re-reading DANDR is the best way to get yourself motivated and you are doing that so you are ready!

Welcome! But trying is the only way to get to the "do" part. And some people have to try longer than others!
        Started Atkins 2d time 6/20/05
        218/187/140
        Measuring every 2 weeks
As of 10/31/05, losta total of 56.75 inches!

Minimum 45 min cardio per day

Sure. I've tried. And now I see that (for me) there is no use in "I'll try" but I have to *do* it. Trying for me gives way to giving in. Trying gave me the opportunity to understand there is no way for me to stay in trial mode if I want to make this work, if I want to become healthy & fit and lose weight. YMMV.

"Do or do not, there is no 'try'." This was my siggy line for a long, long time. I agree with your perspective whole heartedly! Something I wrote on my Random Thoughts page :

Stop being wishy-washy! "I want", "I'll try", "I'd like to", "I think", "I'd might" are ALL wishy washy. "I want to lose weight" isn't a decision, but "I'm going to lose 15lbs." certainly is. "I'll try to start eating better" is limp reasoning at best. Are you going to do it or aren't you? MAKE A DECISION AND THEN DO IT! Own it. Claim it. -And it will be yours.

Welcome aboard and I wish you success!
