    Whats on the agenda today?

Hubby had me up at 5:30 to go out for breakfast so I had a really early start to my morning!

Re: Sunday Check In... You too Bill!

Just got up. Slept late - damned cough kept me up, plus I stayed up until 1 to have a powow with my three teens (love to sit around with them when they get home, catching up, but WHY so late????)

Plan for today: go to mall with daughter #2 for school clothes, work out, pay bills (ick).

Here's something interesting. Today was the end of week 6. I have lost 3 lbs in 2 weeks. A total of 11 in 6 weeks. Talk about SLOW? Yikes! How do I feel about it? Well, having checked all of my calories, percentages, etc, I've decided this is the way it is.

1.5 lbs a week is just fine. Two days ago I fit into shirts that were too tight to button without danger of popping on July 4. My jeans, which are stretch denim, still fit well when newly-washed, but after 3 days, I can pull them down to my knees while still buttoned. I do 45 min of cardio per day and could do more, but am not willing to increase time, just resistence. I've increased lbs of resistence in weight training by 10 or 15 since I started working out 6 weeks ago. I have tons of energy. I like my food.

The only sorta negative part, if you call it that (and I don't think I do, just yet) is that I was hoping to be down to 200 by the end of the month of August, 'cause I wanted to start OWL then, when school starts. <shrug> If it happens, so be it. If not, it will be mid-September or the end of September, and how awful is that? Not very, imho!!!!!!

Here's what I have figured out. There are actual BENEFITS to this extremely slow loss (11 lbs in 6 weeks). NO loose skin. Definately building muscle, no question, because if I'm eating 1600 calories per day and burning 3300, I'd have to be losing more than this if I wasn't working out. No stalls, because everything is so gradual. My body is adjusting as I go, instead of taking time to "pause" or make me exhausted for a couple of days.

            I'm doing GOOD!
            Started Atkins 2d time 6/20/05
            218/187/140
            Measuring every 2 weeks
As of 10/31/05, losta total of 56.75 inches!

Minimum 45 min cardio per day

Re: Sunday Check In... You too Bill!

I liked your post Finelly.Slow weight loss is definitely better I think. And exercising definitely helps with the no loose skin.Even if you do lose the weight fast but you are training your muscles, those new muscles will start to show once you lose the underlying fat instead of the skin having nothing to hold on to and sagging. My sister was telling me maybe I should just do cardio until I lose a lot more weight and then start lifting weights because weightlifting slows down weight loss, and you even gain.I completely disagree, even if I gain five pounds of muscle,or even ten,I'm gonna look like I've still lost weight cause muscle takes up less space than fat even though it weighs more.I'd rather be 160,being in really good shape and toned, than be 150 and flabby.
I CAN RESIST EVERYTHING AND TEMPTATION.
