  • Restaurant Foods for Atkineers

I thought that it would be neat if we could post the different Atkins-friendly meals/dishes we can get at restaurants. You can list either regular items from the menu that pass induction muster, or things you've requested that they've been willing to do.

Olive Garden - will give you roasted or steamed veggies with alfredo sauce upon request. Will remove croutons from their incredible salad if you ask.

Applebees - excellent salads. Will also take any of their pasta bowls and give you the meal without the pasta. Example: the chicken broccolli alfredo bowl is excellent without the pasta.

Denny's - will make any breakfast combination you ask for. Will exchange bread for salad or veggies.

McDonalds, Burger King, etc - will give you bunless burgers upon request.

Arbys -will give you breadless sandwiches upon request.

Subway - will make any sandwich without bread upon request - for example, you can get a bowl with 2 scoops of tuna and the veggies of your choice.

You covered everywhere I have been Finelly. When in doubt there almost always is the caesar salad option I have found.

I dont have as much luck with Dennys that you do though. They dont allow any change in the menu at the one I go to. I get the meatlovers breakfast and ask for the pancakes in a doggie bag to take home to my son and just dont eat the hashbrowns or better yet give them to someone at my table.

Applebees is my favorite. Although I would like a nutritional analysis on the Southwest Chicken Salad and they dont offer it.

Love Love Love the salad at Olive Garden.

Most restaurants have been very helpful to me. All you have to do is ask. They are pretty used to different varying nutritional needs.

I stay away from Chinese as you dont really know what is in the ingredients and I would be too tempted eat off program.

TGI Fridays! They have a low carb section to their menu. I'm particularly fond of the steak with blue cheese and broccoli!

Pretty much any restaurant: Chicken Caesar salad or a Cobb Salad

        WEndy's: Has fantastic salads

LoneStar and other such burger/steak houses: do I really need to elaborate?

Hey buddy, You have some great suggestions.
I work at cracker barrell during the summer and we have a low carb menu.
My favorite is the smothered grilled chicken. It is grilled chicken strips with bacon and colby cheese on top. I also like the steak salad with blue cheese crumbles.

Applebees: Chicken caesar salad, no croutons, topped with melted shredded cheddar and Monterey cheeses

Everywhere pretty much accomodates low carb.

Chili's is another great restaurant...lots of choices. Cobb Salad, Philly Cheese Steak without the bread and Fajitas without the Tortilla Wrap....and I actually ask them to leave out the onions on these dishes and there is no problem.

They will also give you any Burger without the bun, and you can substitute steamed broccoli for the french fries.

I'm finding all the restaurants will let you substitute veggies or a salad for the higher carb sides.

Wendys caesar salads are 99 cents. Whenever I go I grab a few to have on hand for a day or 2. Great to take to work, add a bit of chicken and you have a meal.

Has anyone been to Donato's Pizza? They offer a low carb pizza that is crustless, but they have so many options for toppings. I like their meat lovers. Yummy. It has around 19grams for a generous portion. You could (almost) split it.
