  • Well I just got some extra credit exercise in this evenin

    Off topic.

    A little over an hour ago I took my dd to her friends house and as I was waiting to pull in their driveway, all 3 of their dogs saw my car and bolted for the road to greet us and, you guessed it............. One of em got hit, by by a truck and bolted for the woods.

    The only big BLACK one in the bunch disappeared into the darkened woods. We just spent an hour with flashlights looking for a dog that we thought needed some serious medical attention. Finally we let one of the other dogs back out of the house and she found her pal who evidentally went on a long tear thru the woods to get away. She was lucky and got away with a few scrapes and no broken bones.

    Lucky dog. Literally!

    My heart began beating when I saw em coming and the whole time we searched. So my metabolism got a little extra boost tonight. UGh I just looked at my legs.... they are all torn up from the bushes, shower time.

    Oh Terry, how distressing!

    That must have been awful for both your and your dd's friend's family not knowing what happened to the poor pup.

    It must have been quite exhausting combing the woods under that kind of stress.

        How scary Terry!!! Glad the dog ended up okay. I know how much I love my dog, so I can only imagine what that family was feeling.

          Wow. Terrifying! But that little unexpected extra credit sounds good, once it was over and the adrenilin subsided!!!!

            OH dear lord....

            Talking about upsetting my day....is when i hit an animal...it always draws me to tears...Poor thing was probably scared to death.....Im glad he is ok....bless his little heart...

              It was very hard on the family as they lost their son 3 months ago. He was my sons "brother from another mother" as they say it nowadays. The dog was his and they were just panicked.

              So very glad it turned out OK.

                Of course, I am glad it turned out okay, too. It is good that you kept the good attitude and appreciated the extra credit exercise...

                what the rungs mean to me:
                rung 1 - more veggies
                rung 2 - dairy (some milk in coffee)
                rung 3 - seeds, nuts (mostly sprinkled on salads)
                rung 4 - berries, melon
                rung 5 - wine -
                rung 6 - beans, hummus
                rung 7 - other fruits
                rung 8 - carrots/ potatoes (nah, prolly not)
                rung 9 - whole grains (fresh Dutch breads...)
                Major Goal - 128 lbs/ healthy range
                (on to pre-maintenance)
