  • doing good, except for one thing

I did really well last night at dinner, but when I left the table to use the restroom (water, water...) my boyfriend bought a bottle of Kendall-Jackson wine, the bottles run at $40, I had to drink with them, It was my friends 25 bithday and I couldnt say no. However, vacations, birthdays, weddings, celebreations are out of the way for a while, not to mention my boyfriend leaviing for a trip, so this next two weeks its just me and the introduction phase. Ill be going to the grocery store this weekend, heres what I have planned, can you guys tell me what you think.

pork rids, salomi (fresh...right?), eggs, mayonnaise, celery, broccoli, cauiliflower, cheese stixs, avocado, shredded cheese, mushrooms..ect
    are chicken wings ok?

thanks for everything ..........25lbs to go.........

Yes, menu sounds ok....but maybe some pepperoni or turkey pep slices....Canadian bacon maybe...

I found some great Armour turkey meatballs with no flour, or bread crumbs...xcellent for induction...u could try those...Found them at Publix...not sure i u have that where u are....

The drink was ok but I would not have had it.....Im sure your friends would understand what you doing especially if they know its to help and make you a better person...

But Good Luck and Keep us posted!

Do you like Tuna, if so, I would add that for an easy meal. Just in case your tired one night. Chicken wings are okay, just make sure not to buy the pre-seasoned/flavored kinds, as they will carry carbs. Hope the rest of your day is well (oh, and drink lots of water to flush that wine out)!

All good advice blueeyes. You will have a better hold on your eating once you get a good induction under your belt.

When you next have an "occasion" be sure to come for help and we can give you tips on how to substitute foods and how to deal with temptation. Then you can have a game plan in place.

Wine wasnt the worst thing in the world carb wise, just not at the induction stage. Keep muddling on and ketosis will set in before you know it.

          Hi Blueeyes

I'm not going to pound you for the wine. Kendall Jackson is one of my FAVES!!! I know how much it costs!!! I would not have turned it down, either. Kendall Jackson wine is not something you have everyday or every week! I'm not sure it set you back carb wise. I know that you will burn the alcohol before you burn the fat. So exercise wise it may have set you back a day.

Pick up and move on. Your menu looks good and you will get all kinds of good advice here.

I'm also going to suggest things like fried turnips and jicama. They are similar to potatoes and SO good! Spaghetti squash is good if you're missing pasta. Check the recipe section for creative, legal meals.

          Good luck!

Don't beat yourself up too much. I did give up wine during my induction, but to be honest it was one of the first things I added back into my diet. Not every day, but you know...
