        Good for you!! The first few days are the hardest. After that, you will feel so good that you won't want to cheat!

        what the rungs mean to me:
        rung 1 - more veggies
        rung 2 - dairy (some milk in coffee)
        rung 3 - seeds, nuts (mostly sprinkled on salads)
        rung 4 - berries, melon
        rung 5 - wine -
        rung 6 - beans, hummus
        rung 7 - other fruits
        rung 8 - carrots/ potatoes (nah, prolly not)
        rung 9 - whole grains (fresh Dutch breads...)
        Major Goal - 128 lbs/ healthy range
        (on to pre-maintenance)

            hey all, i just wanted to let you know that i fell off. but started again today and once again am 1/2 day cheat free. its hard but im sticking to it.

                    Hmmm falling off after only a half day, you are going to have to get more committed than that I'm afraid. This place is all about helping each other and meeting our goals...have you read the book hun? Time to make a promise to yourself and get with it! We will all be here to help you, but you have to help yourself first!

                      i am determained, and yep i have read the book. I could write down some things that make me fall off, but i know that alot of you will say they are just excuses and to be honest they kinda are. Im sorry but i will not take starmakers advice and just leave, im a determained person and if it takes me a few days to get cheat free one day then thats what it will take. Once i get cheat free it will be quite easy to stay way from the wrong foods because i will not want to have to start again.

                      Sarah im doing pretty good today. Still waiting on tom, i for got the first time around how much this new way of life made tom late. I am determained sarah and im glad you asked me who i am doing. Woke up late, so lunch is around the corner and i plan to have tuna with mayo and a boiled egg. For dinner i have planned a salad. Will see how it goes.

                      as0l0 honestly with all my heart yes i do believe in the atkins way of eating. I believe that its just hard to get started if you have kids around 24/7 and you live on a tight budget. But i kinda fixed that today when i went out and bought alot of tuna and eggs. Hopefully that will work until next paycheck.

                        Sorry hun, you misunderstood, I didn't mean for you to leave, just for you to read (or reread) the book. If you know it well, you will find ways to keep yourself on track especially through induction. And there are many recipes to help you along the way.

                        I see now how you might have got that idea from my post, and I edited it to make it sound as I meant it to sound. Sorry sweetie!

                            Shelly, I can totally relate to the difficulty of getting back on track. I have been trying to get back on track with this way of eating since MARCH! I know, forever. And, I have just in the past few weeks gotten it down. Basically, I've backed myself into it you could say. I have a son at home and work full time, so I know its hard. What has helped me was getting an email buddy. She is similar to my height and weight with the same amount to lose. Its very motivating to have her around and vent about the frustrations involved. I have also found this board to be a staple in my success. It is so great to come here and chat with other people that are going through the same things. Please feel free to discuss the buddy system with any one of us if you are interested.
