  • 100th time around

    Hi everyone! My name is Shannon and this feels like my 100th attempt to start my life over on a healthy track. My first attempt was exactly 2 years ago with great results, however, I fell off the wagon and now I'm back with an additional 5 pounds to lose. I've tried to restart many times but unfortunately I was not fully committed to this life change. Anyhow, this brings me to the present and to my question. What does everyone think about the meat and egg fast? I ask this because I am in a wedding on September 10th and my bridesmaid dress does not fit. I mean I can't even zipper it. I was just wondering if the meat and egg fast would be something to try as a quick start to the induction phase. Any and all responses and or advice would be greatly appreciated.

    Hi, I have asked about the meat and egg fast and it seems like people don't think much of it. But a clean induction of two weeks or more should kick start your weight loss for you. Be strict with yourself. LOL

      I have heard of this and it has been some talk here....but that does not seem like a healthy way to eat....You need some many more additional nutrients in your body especially us being woman and all....So my advice would be just stick with a clean induction and go from there....

        No need to start with any type of fast. Start with strict induction. Make sure you follow the rules to a "T". You'll get into ketosis in a matter of days, and will start losing those inches, and the dress will fit.

        Honest! Don't forget to exercise at least 30 min per day, and drink 64 oz or more of water! Keep your fats high, your protein at about 30-35%, and no more than 20 grams of carbs.

          Thank you all for your responses. I think that I will forget the m/e fast and start with a clean induction. I know that in the past when I've started induction I could easily drop 5-7 pounds the first week. OK, here I go, starting tomorrow AM.

            hi. i have a feeling that you may not have accepted that you have to change your eating forever and your inner demons are going to de-rail your attempt. good luck though. hope i'm wrong

              as0l0-Thank you for your concern. I do realize that I must change my eating habits for life. I also agree with you that I, like many others, deal with inner demons. However, I do feel that I know what I must do and I'm determined to succeed. I admitted in my initial post that I've never been 100% committed. I feel that I am now and that's what matters. Again, thanks for the concern.
