  • I'm at a conference for two days.. help!

    Hi everyone-

    I'm going to a conference for two days and I'm trying to figure out ways to eat without going off the diet. I know the first day is an all day session with lunch provided, and I definitely won't be able to eat that. I'll have a mini fridge possibly, but not much else. I figure i'll just buy a big thing of water every day - that'll solve the water problem.

    So questions:

    1. what can i bring with me from home to eat while I'm there?
    2. what can I buy from 7-11 and the like to snack on/eat?

    3. eating out will be alright - I'm good with the caesar salads all day if need be. I'm sure I can get an omelet at the hotel even though it will be ridiculously expensive. However, what can I eat that won't risk going over at all? Sometimes caesar salads have extra carbs ya know.

    Can you pack a cooler with icepacks? You could refreeze them in the hotel or stop once or so to get ice? I would recommend from the 7-11 maybe pork rinds and pepperoni anc cheese sicks? Normally I don't recommend eating low carb bars but bring one along just in case? I like to keep a carbwise crispy bar around at work in case I absolutely have to eat it. A lot of times I get bogged down with appointments and don't have time for lunch. While someones hair is processing I can have time for that with a large glass of water It will keep me full for a long while!

      Yep, everything Rikki said. Maybe with the pork rinds you could also pick up some salsa for the hotel room. As for the actual meeting, I would definitely have a low carb bar and maybe even a shake stashed close by. Just in case. You could also have some sliced cucumber and ranch dressing in your purse (should keep for a while). And definitely some pepperoni and cheese like Rikki suggested. It will be hard with someone providing the food. But if it is sandwiches, you could always just eat it w/out the bread. Something like that you would think they would serve a veggie tray, which would be nice.
