  • First full day....

    Today will be my first day on Atkins(for the 4th time) I NEVER have made it past the first day. I feel scared . I really, really know now that sugar and white flour are awful things and I need to eliminate them from my diet....It makes me feel anxious. I know I will be posting ALOT in the next little while and I will thank you in advance for being patient and tolerant. Im not kidding, I feel like Im going to drug rehab or something. The thought of not eating any carbs is scary for me. I know its what I need to do and I want to lose weight as well. Im tired of bingeing and feeling sick. It's time to get off that rump and do soemthing about it. I know I can do this.

      It is like drug rehab a bit because we have to rid ourselves of some demons along the way. I've never been in drug rehab, although I've been called a rahab before lol, but I've heard enough about it to know that we face alot of the same types of challenges. This is a support place where we help those who need a hand back up. You also have to help yourself. Get over the first day....then the first week....then the second week...before you know it, you will be one of us, dishing out words of encouragement, and kicking the butts of those who need it!

        Just take it one day at a time....make it thru one day....then the next...then the next. Before long your well on your way to being that thinner healthier you!

          Hi Corinna! As already said, just take it one day at a time. Let us know if you are having problems, concerns, questions, vents, anything. We all come here to be supported and to provide support. You are going to do great!!!

                YOU CAN DO IT!!! THE FIRST COUPLE OF DAYS ARE THE HARDEST. After that just think like i do "I dont want to have to start over from day one again".We are with you.

                    Here is something that helps me alot. Figure out what your weakness is. My scenario: I love breads and pasta and chips. I go to the recipe section or this site http://users3.ev1.net/~fontlady/index.html and find recipes for "legal" ways of making the foods I love.


                    Once you fill your house with legal foods that are just as tasty, you will find that this WOE isn't so hard. Planning is the key. Hang in there, we are all in this together!

                      If you get through the first week, which you can do, you will begin to feel as you have never felt before! If you cheat, even a little, then you won't get that feeling and you will think that this diet isn't for you. Give it seven straight days! Sometimes, a fourteen day induction seems like such a long commitment. I say, if you give it seven, you will want to give it the other seven!!! I have never felt better!

                      1st goal: 139 (earlier weight)
                      what the rungs mean to me:
                      rung 1 - more veggies
                      rung 2 - dairy (some milk in coffee)
                      rung 3 - seeds, nuts (mostly sprinkled on salads)
                      rung 4 - berries, melon
                      rung 5 - wine -
                      rung 6 - beans, hummus
                      rung 7 - other fruits
                      rung 8 - carrots/ potatoes (nah, prolly not)
                      rung 9 - whole grains (fresh Dutch breads...)
                      Major Goal - 128 lbs/ healthy range
                      (on to pre-maintenance)

                        you can do it!@@!!! There are soooooooo sooooooo sooooooo many wonderful people here to help out a long the way. They will support you and also ...uh, maybe give you a little kick in the tail when you need it too lol make it through one day... then the next day say the same thing. One day at a time- you can do it! We're glad you are here!
