  • Sunday check-in

    Gooooooooood morning!

Happy Sunday, everyone! It's cloudy and cool here, which means no beach for me, but there's PLENTY to do at home.

I'm going to continue to clean the heck outta the house. I was lazy for a week and did the bare minimum, but now that I'm rested and refreshed, it's time for the "back to school" whirlwind of cleaning.

I'm also going to do some cooking. Because we went away on Friday, I didn't prepare my usual weekend meals. Not a problem, since I have plenty of things to nosh on, but I'd like to get some dishes prepared and in the fridge for warming up later.

I'm feeling really good, though some anxiety is normal for me during TOM (and he's here............). Activity will take care of that.

I'm kind of excited about re-measuring tomorrow, to see how much I've lost. Don't forget, those of you who are in the Tape Measure challenge - Tues a.m. or Wed a.m. at the latest is your re-measure date!!!!!

So.......should I try on a size smaller pants?

    Re: Sunday check-in

    hi!

well, my conference is going well. All this schmoozing means alcohol, but other than that I have done quite well on the diet! Yes, I know I could skip the alcohol but I'm trying to impress the people so that they'll hire me one day and if they buy me a glass of wine I'm not going to complain. (yes, that's an excuse. ;-))

The only day I may have really gone over was the first day when I ordered room service. They didn't have what i originally ordered so the only other thing (that wasn't 20$) was crab dip, so I got that with veggies to dip. It probably had flour in it, I bet. But, it was either that or not eat dinner, so...

I'm hoping tuesday is good for measuring - I think TOM is coming again (early this time) so it might not be. we'll see!

          Re: Sunday check-in

I was wondering when TOM was going to show up and if he has made a trip to see you Fin then that means he skipped my house and is a little late arriving here. That must by why I am so soooooooooooo tired and I do have some pms symptoms going on. If he's late hes gonna be a good one. ugh. not. Im at the point where I would love to see him so I can look forward to him leaving! Measuring this week will not be good and I may just wait until the end of the next 2 weeks to do so.

Try on those smaller pants and see how they fit. One thing I love about this (or at least last time when I was losing MUCH quicker) is shopping out of my own closet. I always had an item that I would shoot for and was thrilled to see each week how close I got to being comfortably in it so I could add it to my wardrobe. Also... thrift shopping was an absolute blast! DD and I would go and I would spend half the time in the fitting room to go home with new clothes to wear and some to shrink into.

Knick... I did partake in some alcohol at my conference last week but also used sparkling water for the most part. Made it feel like I had a drink even when I didnt. Enjoy the rest of your time there!

Natasha.... I am no wheres ready to head back to work next week when we open the schools. I have a very long list of things I want to get done so this week will be busy trying to accomplish as much of it as possible. Where did the summer go?? I will be glad to get a paycheck again though.

the problem is that a lot of this is receptions and the like, so it's pre-arranged drinks. Wine, beer, and water. Then I've gone to two dinners with professors (out of three) and they order a bottle of wine and what am I going to say? drink it yourself??? These are people that might hire me next year, you know?

I don't mind the alcohol too much. I mind that I'm not drinking enough water, I need to find a 7-11 or something. I mind that I'm getting hidden carbs in restaurant food too. *sigh*

but, all in all, I'm not really worried - it's just a bump in the road! just have to ignore whatever cravings might come and move on. Wish TOM would just get here already - it's been flirting with me for a week now. *ggrrrrrrrrrr*

IMHO I think if your professors see your ability to say no (about the alcohol) and stick to it, that is a major character assest in many people eyes. Sometimes people will see if you just go along or stick to your true self and politely decline, and there is no need to give a reason unless you're asked, and in that case say something vague if you don't want to go on and on.
