        ROFLMAO!

Ladies, you're somethin' else, and I'd be lost without you.

Day 1 is coming to a close. Quick run down....

Got up, started sucking down the water like mad. Did my cardio workout, hit the shower, ate and went to the doctor's office (fun. NOT). I finished that up and went and met a girlfriend for lunch and sat there while she smoked like a chimney. I didn't even feel a pang or a twinge. Just felt bad for her as she puffed her face off and guilty for me because it didn't bother me. Came home, got lots of house cleaning done, a little bit of reading and made dinner.

Breakfast: 2 eggs, 1 serving sausage links (3 links) and 1/2 oz of cheese (was in a hurry and late for the docs)

Snack: 5 chicken wings with Franks redhot & 1/2 tbsp of bleu cheese

Lunch: 1.5 cups of broccoli, 8oz steak, 2 tbsp of butter.

Dinner: 6 oz total of Chicken, bacon, & shrimp cooked with parmesean & montreal garlic spices served on a bed of romaine, spinach, tomato, & cucumber with 2 tbsps of ranch dressing.

A bit higher in calories than I'd have liked, but that's cuz I ate lunch out with my friend and we were there for about 3 1/2 hours - thus the chicken wing snack and then lunch. I came in at 18 grams of carb.

And oh man...I'm retaining more water than the Hoover Dam. All the sodium today didn't help that, but I'm okay with that. It'll be flushed tomorrow or the day after, and that works for me. I almost never eat both bacon and sausage in a day, so not thrilled about that, but <shrug> not particularily stressed about it either. I was still induction legal and satisfied

I drank over 100oz of water today, didn't smoke at all, ate cleanly, exercised, journaled, didn't binge/purge, and started reading BFL.

        A good day.

Thank you for sharing it with me and keepin' me honest

        ~Brook

Congrats Brook on being smoke free It's not easy and that's coming from one who has been trying. I am down quite a bit from what I used to smoke, but can't get rid of the last few cigs...at least not right now.

Tried meds, but that sparked a weight gain as a nasty side effect....after I drop the weight i will work on it again...maybe hynosis....we'll see...

Keep up the good work...I am very impressed

                      Re: Brook... checking on ya!

Iap, I weighed in yesterday morning. That's it. I have no huge love affair with that stupid thing.

Spikette- You'll hear me talk about Allen Carr a LOT, but with good reason. If you haven't picked up his book, I'd strongly suggest it. Quitting with his help has never been torturous - it really has been easy for me. I'm not suffering, I'm not crabby, I'm not miserable to be around. I feel fantastic and seriously - as cheesy as it sounds - as though I've been set free again. Interestingly enough - attempts at cutting down have always been miserable for me and I never understood why. Mr. Carr has a way about him that explains things and he's one who's adamantly opposed to cutting down. If you're interested in what he has to say about it and why (which really- makes PERFECT sense), give me a shout via PM.

So yep - here we are on Day 2 & I feel great.

Thanks so much, you guys. Seriously. You're amazing.

                            Way to go, Brook!

You're doing all the right things, and are an inspiration for us all.

Lunch with a girlfriend is ALSO part of this woe (I firmly believe in having nurturing relationships) and so what's a little extra sodium or calories? It's not like you ate pastries!

You're doing great Brook! I quit smoking cold turkey back at the end of January. After 33 years of smoking...it was quite an accomplishment.
