    Re: Wednesday Check In

    Hey everyone,
Got a little headache today, which is normal I guess because I've always suffered from "induction flu" pretty hard. Ate two eggs for breakfast and am off to eat lunch: a polish with sauerkraut and mustard, some cheese, and more water.
I'm working a long day at work today, which is good, cause it keeps my mind off of things like whoopie pies and cigarettes. It's when I'm home staring at the fridge that I get in trouble....

        Finelly... be praying for you...

Doing so-so... think I have munchie/sweet cravings... its a changing season around here, so that factors in and I have to be aware of it.

On plan so far, a third of the water gone, good stuff packed, and no money to splurge on junk with.

        Happy Wednesday!

            Re: Wednesday Check In

            Finelly-

since this is her decision to come visit, I would decide how many hours you are willing to give to her (dinner, lunch, etc...) and stick to that. Tell her you're already booked up for the rest of it. Invent activities if you have to.

don't let her guilt you into doing more with her, either. And if your kids are grown it's up to them to decide whether they'll see her, so don't let her make you feel bad about THAT either.

now the criticism is harder. It's easy to sit and say that she's the one who is bitter and blah blah and jealous and sad and etc... but it's not that easy to internalize in such a way that it doesn't make you feel bad. My advice is that after you see her, go home and make a list of the good things about yourself (your dedication to this WOL for example!!) that isn't a defense of yourself, and that isn't in response to what she said, but just straight out the things you know you like about yourslef and the things you've done.

May or may not help, but it's better than thinking about the bad things she says that most likely aren't even true anyway!

              Re: Wednesday Check In

Happy Wednesday to my STAC brothers and seesters!

Its been rainy all week here, the mouthy attack parrots aren't liking the scene. Their shreiking complaints have been rather er..overly vocal as of late. Roast chicken anyone?

Hopefully the sun will come back out and we can see 1 more month of summer. Get those 3 big sqwackers off my back! They are perpetual 3 yr olds that never grow up! And live longer than we do! Go figure!

Sure love this forum and all the peeps within, don't know what I'd do without ya'll! (sniff)

Had some chicken livers for brekkie mmmm hubby egg washed 'em, and coated them in a mixture of atkins bake mix and almond flour. Fried in butter and olive oil and seasoned nice. Loved it!

Am still running at night (kinda) more like BRISK walking with the occasional 1/2 block run 4 times during the 1/2 hour tour. Yeah I know...I rock don't I? NOT! heh heh I really need to push myself to run more but my legs are arguing with me about this running thing, so I am trying to start slow. I remember whining on here when I first started walking how my legs were going to fall off, and someone said I will get used to it, they were right, I did and now I walk with no pain at all, and faster all the time. I guess I just need to tough it out.

Everyone is doing so well, and its due in large part to this forum and its folks, I would surely fail without it.

              End/Mush

Star, you are doing great with the running! Working your way up seems to be a smart method - avoid injuries that way.

                          Re: Wednesday Check In

                          Thanks for the great advice!

My dh just called. He deposited the monster at her hotel. He told her that I am not responsible for her relationship with her grandchildren and that if they don't return her calls, then there's nothing he or I or their father will do about it.

My 18 year old daughter took me to coffee for a pep talk and said "mom, she's a crazy old lady. Don't pay attention to her."

And, of course, I do need to realize that my mom's ideas of what is healthy and right are not mine. For example, she thinks it is a sign of serious emotional problems that all of the kids want to go to college within 100 miles of me or their father. Apparently the really healthy kids want to move as far away as possible from their parents. (like any sane person would want to leave California weather, lol). And she thinks it's wrong that I allow my adult kids to make their own decisions in life. I should be telling them what to do.....uhuh. Oh, and she has a list of things I need to change about myself and it is wrong of me (and mentally ill) to refuse or disagree. Daughters are supposed to listen to their mothers and change if they are not the way the mother wanted them to turn out!!!!!!!

Ah, well. I'm more relaxed, though still on edge. I'm trying to keep eating every hour and a half, just a little. Drinking water.
Thanks for all of your support, guys!

                            You are doing great Fin!

We can choose our friends but not our family.

But there is no rule saying that we have to put up with everything they do just because they are family.

that's a great idea fin - eating a little bit every hour or two. That'll keep you busy and if you're not hungry you're less likely to dive into something bad for you!

Just took DD to pick up her first car. She is dancing in the streets.

I was dancing with her but realized it was because I had to pee! (100 oz of water does that to me.)

Now if she can just get the license date back and pass the test..... my life will be a little easier. She can cart her own butt to work and back.

                                So close. so close.
