Hi micki, welcome back! Sorry to hear about all your troubles, that sounds absolutely stressful.

Why don't you make yourself a new thread introducing yourself so more people can stop and say hi? that way we can keep up with you too!

Re: Advice for stressed out Atkineers

First I want to thank Jess for welcoming me and suggesting this forum. Second...Mick I had to say that I know a little bit of what you are going through. My husband was diagnosed with Stage 3B lung cancer late April 2005 and then in november of that year I lost my job. Thats when I put on more weight by eating high carb comfort foods. But I started a new job Jan 3 and after months of chemo and radiation, Jim is still here and doing great. So now I am going to concentrate on getting myself healthy so I can continue to be of good support for jim.

Hang in there! Anytime you want to chat let me know.

ester...it's great that jm is doing good now. please god we will be able to say the same about my tony when his chemo ends in feb. meanwhile we have a meeting with his specialist on tuesday to discuss the results of the scan he had last week after the initial 4 chemos. keep all your fingers and toes crossed for us, pleeeeese.
meanwhile i will have to really focus so that the stress leading up to his consultation doesn't send me carbo-binging. i'm more or less sure now that i won't as i am well and truly in ketosis now, and have thanks goodness lost my cravings for carbs.
        whew what a relief!!!!!!!

yay micki, it sounds like you're doing great!

Here's something to think about: do you want to give that cancer MORE control over your life than it already has? No? Then don't let it make you binge! Take control over that nasty cancer in any way you can, and don't let it make your life more miserable than it needs to.

That's my advice, and what I tell myself when something goes wrong in my life. Do I want X to have control over what I eat? NO!

I've noticed in the past that not only does massage releive stress, but a deep tissue massage has gotten my weight loss moving again after a stall.
