    blah. *nod*

    this is how I feel right now. Not my mood particularly, but my attitude towards my eating. I'm not bored with the food, i'm just UNMOTIVATED. You should see me. I'm eating cold cuts because I don't feel like cooking a meal. This is clearly Not Good.

    cheated saturday at the football game, and then sunday had more ice cream. I just don't CARE right now. I'm not posting here either much, if ya'll have noticed. I've only gained one pound, but still...

    *sigh*

    help, need motivation!

    Knickknack.. what motivates you? Is it buying something a size lower than you are now that you cant wait to wear? The cute guy at the coffee store? A picture of a smaller you?

    Maybe you just arent hungry? Are you eating out of habit? Boredom?

    I want to help...

      Oh...don't lose your motivation. You need to stay strong. Cold cuts have a lot of sodium and will bloat you up like a toad. What motivated you to change your woe and want to lose wt? Think about that and see if it helps. Think about what you really want. Mabey try some journaling to see what has got you so blahed out. Giving up or giving in will only bring you further down.

        okay, let's see... what motivated me was the fact that I couldn't fit into any of my clothes and that I weighed more than I'd ever weighed in my life. I also felt unattractive to men, partly because i was heavier than I was used to and partly because I didn't have any cute clothes to wear.

        Now I still can't quite fit into most of my clothes, but I do fit into the tops. So it's a bit better. but i'm still not there yet. I'm feeling better about everything and I guess I'm just a little annoyed that I can't go do whatever I want to do and not worry about it, because I finally feel like going and LIVING life you know?

        But, I guess I need to remember that I'm getting older and the metabolism isn't as forgiving.

          Hang in there..... I have had similar to that attitude for many days now. I do seem to be coming out of it.................. so hold on girl and it will get better.

          What is that line Cher said to Nicholas Cage in the movies.... in Moonstruck?

              Well, like i coudln't eat at the tailgate for the steelers game on saturday, for example. My very first pro football game and i coudln't eat anything and I shouldn't have been drinking anything either! It was last minute tix or I would have eaten beforehand. I did eat a piece of sandwich, there wasn't enough meat to really take off of it - it was panini so a little slice of prosciutto, etc... And I had beer (lo carb, but still). I think that's what has me in a funk - not being able to do things with other people around me.

              I'm sure it isn't helped any by my ice cream extravaganza last thursday. Cause and effect is difficult to ascertain there, but it's not making me want to stick to it. hehe.

              But, I'm determined. I'm going to lose these last 11 pounds. I guess it's just one of the choices you have to make in life.

                  You know what, Knick? I think that it is very very common to go through a sort of passive, apathetic stage on this woe. Often the first one is somewhere between a month and two months, which is why you and Terry are both feeling it.

                  You've both put so much effort and commitment into this, and you have succeeded, but.......well, let me put it this way. You know how every now and then your body needs to "pause" and adjust to the new weight, so your scale stays the same for EVER?

                  I think our minds and hearts do the same. I'm not saying you need a break from Atkins, but I am saying that the resolve and the passionate commitment may fade for a bit.

                  And this is when you need this board the most. If YOU don't have the motivation and the rigid focus, then you need to get it from us.

                  So Knick - tomorrow is the day to do it super, super clean. Post a menu for us before the day begins, if you can. Commit to drinking the right amount of water and the right foods. JUST for tomorrow. We'll worry about Wednesday when Wednesday comes!

                    Hey... on one of the prayer boards I go to, I find that when I am feeling like I am ready to just say, oh well.. whatever.. it helps to find someone in need of encouragment themselves.

                    If I can get myself riled up to get them fired up, for whatever reason, it is the kick in the pants I need for myself too.

                    That made no sense, but my point is in there somewhere.

                    Maybe a newbie or a struggler could use some good old fashioned knicknack styled firing up?

                      Okay, today's dinner:

                      veal scallopini with asparagus or green beans. breaded in parmesan, of course.

                      I just bought:

                      2 pounds of ground lamb
                      1 pound of ground beef
                      4 chicken breasts
                      salmon stuffed with spinach and feta
                      prosciutto

                      (my veggies from the farm come tomorrow)

                      so my plan tonight is to make the ground lamb stuff that I make and the quiche. That way I'll have easy to find food for breakfast and lunch.

                        Wonderful! It's hard to keep on keeping on, planning and preparing in advance, when you are in the "yah, whatever, i don't care" mood, but you are doing it.
