  • Making Your Post a Reality

I don't know about you guys but it seems that if I post something on this group, I have to make it a reality or I feel like I have let down my STAC buddies.

Yesterday, I posted that I would buy a tape measure and start measuring. I got home from work and realized that I did not buy one on the way home. After I ate dinner, I told my husband I needed to go out and buy a tape measure. I had remembered my post and it motivated me to go out and do what I said.

Also, every time I did the water challenges, I stayed true to my word. I guess I better be careful what I post.

OH, now that darn exercise word. I have the Walk Away the Pounds DVDs, Winsor Pilates DVDs, and a treadmill. All of them are collecting dust. I haven't even viewed the videos and know I need to start working on that exercise word. So my post to you guys today is that I will start my excercise tonight. Not sure which one I will do but I will do one of them. Now having said that, I better get off my duff and do something about it tonight. I will let you know how it goes.

I am absolutely the same way. That is why, very early on, I posted what my goals were for each day or week. It kept me legal.

Having said that, perhaps y'all have noticed that I have NOT been posting about exercise and water intake.......I'm not yet willing to recommit myself but I'm working on it.

Re: Making Your Post a Reality

Well, I posted that I had finally learned more about my sugar monster however, that night I went home and binged on sweets full o' carbs and saturated fat. Posting had the opposite affect on me. Since then I have been trying to stop binging but, I have continued. Maybe I don't want health enough or maybe I'm sabatoging myself like others talk about. I don't know but, I'm tired of it all. Sorry for the bummer post- at the very least I do keep trying- each day getting back on the healthy low carb lifestyle.

Aw, Kbuchs honey. And you've been doing it alone without letting us know.........

It is often really really REALLY hard to get on track and stay there. That undisciplined carb demon inside of us does NOT want to give up control and DOES want to keep succombing to temptation. Sometimes it seems as if no matter how much you WANT to do it right, the part of you that doesn't want to is going to win no matter what.

Do you have a lot of forbidden foods in your house and do you need to have them there for someone else?

Do you mostly give in at night, or is it anytime during the day?

Hang in there. If you give up trying, you will never succeed. But if you keep posting and keep trying, you will get back on target.

kbuchs... Im only a PM or an email away for you now buddy!! Its toughest at the beginning when trying to detox all the bad stuff from your system and after that I won lie and say it is all smooth sailing but it is easier. And the little bumps in the road are just that.... little bumps to get over one at a time .... with help from your pals here at STAC of course!

              Thanks Finelly and Terry!

Finelly to answer your questions: no I don't keep illegal foods in my apartment but my grandparents do downstairs and I spend time with them after work. I mostly give in after work, in the evening. I try to eat high fat and protein foods but sometimes the sweets still are relentless. But, I am determined today to not fall into temptations. I read somewhere else- maybe on this thread- advice to take it one day at a time and that is what I am going to do. Thanks for listening!
