  • A start to feeling better

    Hello All

Well I'm back to induction as of lunch time today (UK time...). I've just
come out of hospital today (sadly had non induction breakfast before
I came out) after sadly having losing a pregnancy (17 weeks) .

Feeling a little worse for wear, body out of wack and a super energised
11 month old baby boy to enjoy, I thought I'd step on the scales.

Well after that I thought I get back to induction directly, but boy do
I find it hard for the first week. I have 2 weeks at home before work
and nursery re opens after half term next week, so I have a little
time to invest in perking myself up.

It's going to be super hard getting past the sugar desire along
aside hormones, so please wish me luck and any tips on the
best way to subsue the need for sweetness.

I'll go to the gym tomorrow, but today I'll take it easy on activity...other
than crawling around after the tazmanian devil at the speed of light (son).

I need to get into ketosis asap and feeling better about me and life !!!

It's great that this board is here,
    Cheers, Sally

    ((((((((((Sally))))))))))

I feel for you. I'm sorry for your loss.

It's great you want to go back to the Atkins lifestyle. You are a very dedicated person. Anyway, don't be too strict on yourself. Your body and soul need to readjust and HEAL and most of your weight (and moods) will fluctuate with hormones...

We'll be right here for you to help you along the way.

Re: A start to feeling better

Thank-you so much Laurenfra and yemenitegreen,

It's all been whirlwind year of suprises and hospitals this year, but it can
        get better!

'Your body and soul need to readjust and HEAL ' this is an understatement,
but for me this is a slow and painful process.

I don't feel in control at all at the moment, I know getting back in ketosis
will help but I feel weak willed at the moment and I dont want to feel weak .

I must avoid carby foods...1/2 a day at a time, I've got it written on
the fridge door and I have to mark a cross against each 1/2 day
I make it. Sad but true!!!

        Thanks again

Re: A start to feeling better

          Welcome, Sally.

I have had six miscarriages and I also have four children. The misses were devastating and I know what you are going through.

You have come to the right place, at the right time, and we are here for you. Taking it 1/2 day at a time is great - no more and no less than you can tolerate right now. Most of us experienced a lot of difficulty getting the first two weeks down pat, and whatever wisdom we've gained from that is in the stickies at the top of this forum.

          You WILL succeed!

Re: A start to feeling better

Alot of people have suggested to me to eat a high fat/protein snack when I start craving sugar. Maybe that would help when the carbs call your name? And I'm sorry for your loss

Thank-you all for your kind words, they are very welcome and were much needed today.

I've done OK this afternoon, just very challanged! I've tried higher fat snacks, but it always somthing with Mayo in it and i'm sure that i'm overdoing the mayo...

Baby Taz has kept my mind and body busy...

                    Thank-you,

Or meat and cheese slice or cream cheese rollups.
Wondering how to get 'most' of your net carbs from your induction veggies?

Re: A start to feeling better

                          Good high-fat snacks to try:

                          - flax seed cracker with cream cheese (I like the chives blend)
                          - devilled egg
                          - cheese sticks
                          - pork rinds
                          - Veggies (raw) with ranch dressing.

                          I don't think there's a mayo limit, so don't worry about THAT.......

                          Hope today is going well!

                            Dear all

Thank-you for all your responses, they are of a great help.

Glad to have got yesterday over with and today is a new day,
first full clean day to be (as started yesterday afternoon).

Today should be good, Taz is in the gym nursery for a few hours
and my big boy is at home today and is great company
and top at entertaining the tazmainian devel...

I'm starting some activity today, just about to go into the
gym, hope to do some power walking and use the ski machine,
all low impact to avoid over stressing my body in the early days.

Thanks for all your tips for snacks, I'm off to the shops to
                            stock up later.

I seem to eat lots of Mayo in this WOE, what about everyone else?
I love the stuff, it's almost as if I have to have it! I'll eat it
off the teaspoon...seems very unhealthy .

                            Thank-you folks
