  • Need To Get Back On Track

I keep saying it but am having a hard time. I consider myself to still be on the plan but have been cheating somewhat. I have gained 7 lbs from lowest weight. What is the best way to get back on track and lose those 7 lbs back?

Exercise and water drinking are the two most important!

That and going back on induction until you hit ketosis. From there you can pop back into OWL for those remaining few pounds!

Shoot, 7 pounds! I have a hangnail that size!

Welcome back! Good to see you!

Are you on induction or OWL? I'd go back a few steps personally. Either to a strict induction or back to induction, or back a few levels. That's probably the best way to do it!

        Hey there, GuitarMan

You do what I'm doing (after regaining 15lbs), you simply get back on induction for a week or two and then work the program because you know it works! Cleo's right - exercise, water intake, supplements - you know the drill! You CAN do it!! - And you're certainly not in the Regained-Weight-Boat alone

Aside from a bit of cheating I guess I never really followed the levels properly. I want to get back on induction now but I am taking my wife to a resort in Scottsdale for the weekend as it is our 20th Anniversary and I am afraid that it will be difficult to get back on until next Monday.

              Thanks Guitarman!

I actually became a non-smoker and started induction at the same time 3 1/2 years ago , and lost 82lbs. I started smoking again 5 months ago and gained 15lbs, and now I'm a non-smoker (re-inductee) again and 5 of those lbs are gone again. Go figure!

              Thanks again!

Yea! Usually you gain when you quit. That's what everyone told me more than a year ago that quitting and starting Atkins at the same time was a bad idea. Well it wasn't. I am still a non smoker and still down approx 25 lbs. Can't complain, however would still like to lose a few more.

you are always going to have life events popping up to use as excuses if you want. The bottom line is you decide I will or I won't and you do! Find those reasons you had for doing low carb andf losing the weight and gasining control of your blood sugar that were important to you when you decided to start. Update that list and keep it near and dear and read it every time you even think you might not be able to do your Atkins today cause.....

                    Hey guitarman,
I went totally off the program for about two months and regained ten pounds in the blink of an eye. After being back on induction for one week and two days, I'm already down 8lbs!

I know what you mean about an upcoming event making you wonder if you should wait. I did that too. I waited until after the family vacation and I had a good block of regular routine in front of me to get back into the induction groove. Now when another event comes along, I know it's no excuses.
                    Good luck to you!
