  • Brook's Avatar - how do you make it???

I would like to make an avatar like Brooks. I think it would be neat to put a face to the name. How do you make the rotating pictures? I have both Paint Shop Pro and Photoshop or is there a website that you do that on???

Pjade, I did it with Animation Shop (comes with Paint Shop Pro).

    It's really simple.

Take your two pictures, make sure they are the same size. (For an avatar, 80x80 pixels or so is a great size.) Save them both as jpgs.

Open up Animation Shop and click on the Animation Wizard Icon (right under "file").
    Choose the following settings:

Same size as the first image. Click Next.
Put the check in Opaque. Click Next.
Choose Centered in the frame and With Canvas Color. Click next.
Choose Yes, repeat the animation indefinitely and use 250 in the 'how long' box. Click Next.
Click Add Image and add in both of your jpgs. Click Next.
    Click Finish.

Now, go to File/Save As and name your file. Click Save.
Assuming your pictures are small like my avatar, leave the slider thingy up at "Better Image Quality". Click Next.
    Click Next Again.
In this screen it will tell you the size of the new animation file. I keep mine to under 10kb.

That's it. That's all there is to it!

Thanks Brook! As soon as I get my new hard drive for my laptop computer, I will make myself a new avatar. I am using my old, old desktop now and I wouldn't dare use it for much else than a backup computer to get on the internet. You are great help!!!

That would be great Brook. Are you sure you don't mind? Or that you have the time!!!! You seem to stay sooo busy!!! Do they have to be sized or can you do that too? I only have Kodak software that came with my computer and it stinks!
