Hey I haven't been here in maybe a day or so. I met this woman who was living out of her car with her 6 children, twin girls 3 yrs., 16 yr girl, 13 yr girl, 7 yr girl, 9 yr boy. I have 4 teen children myself. I share my food and gave her one of my two bedrooms. She is willing to give money when she gets paid on the 1st of the month, by going 1/2 next month on everything. I already had plans on moving and willing to let her have my lease and I'm sure the landlord is okay with that, I've been trying to contact him to ask. But, her kids the 4 younger ones get on my nerves, my kids nerves and their older sisters nerves. She don't train them, I tried to explain this to her, but she claims she does. They holler, scream, beg when they just ate good, she expects her oldest two to watch them in the house. I told her that is not their responsibility and its not fair for her to have more children and burden them like that. She seems ungrateful/like as if she is offended, I won't ask her to leave because she is pleasant, but mainly because of her kids (poor children). Her kids run outside with no shoes on, or pants, that's her. I felt for her children but she seems like she is fooling herself and its not my problem, I did the Christian thing, and I hate to say this but I can't wait until my place is ready!!! This has been a lot!! Helping people can sometimes stress you out!!

Re: I took in a homeless woman and her children, I'm stressed!!!
You did a good thing. Some would say risky. But a good thing, and sometimes there are down sides even for the good we do.
You have a big heart!
Hopefully your new place will be ready soon and you can go back to a more normal living space. Is it expected to be done soon?

Wow...what a wonderful generous heart you have. That is the kind of thing that the Lord wants us to do(take care of each other). Pray and ask for patience and guidance in this situation. Be careful as well. You may be the only role model she has. It is hard when people live their lives different from you. Just know the generosity you have shown will not go unrewarded in Gods eyes.
Take care of yourself and I will send my prayers your way.

No matter what you do for people or what kind of friends you may be, they one thing you never can do is tell people how to raise their children. My boss always will ask "what am I doing wrong, your kids do do this or that" but he really doesnt want to hear the answer.
You dont have much time with this woman maybe she will learn by you setting a good example.
You are a brave and wonderful person God will bless you~Lauren~
support? Isn't it time to give some back?
Ask a mod how today.

Wow Nikki! You are a strong, brave and generous woman!!!
I hope the new place comes through quickly. From a legal stand point, make sure everything gets changed into this woman's name before you leave. I would hate to see your generousity cause you problems later down the line. (Sorry, I'm a paralegal, I cannot help but worry).

Thanks so much everybody, I appreciate your replies so much. I haven't talked about it to no one. I love the support here, its great!!
I understand what you're saying.Originally posted by LaurenfraNo matter what you do for people or what kind of friends you may be, they one thing you never can do is tell people how to raise their children.
I just think when you're living with somebody and they give you constructive feedback you should take heed and basically do what they want you to do in their household. I told her to clean up after her kids and she don't. When I told her about it she started raising her voice. I told her not to raise her voice, it took everything in the world to make me not go there with her. She is nice, and I think she understand that she must chestize her children. Spare the rod spoil the child that's what scripture say. As long as children do what their told, then there will be no problem.{100% Female/30/5'6"}

Hello
Just wanted to say that you have an open and loving heart.
I know your stress. We just went through the same thing with an elderly gentlemen. Man that was hard. Helping people...I mean...really hands on helping...is not easy...and thats why it takes a big heart and faith in God to do it.
Many blessings to you and your kiddos as you move and start afresh!

Thanks Eileene and everybody again
. I just gave her a hug and kiss on the cheek and took Laurenfra's advice: We feel so much better by it. I have to set a good example, I have to be accountable for my actions, and I thank you Laurenfra for suggesting what you did. I hate that I felt so bad against her like that, but I have to have my boundaries respected and everyone feel comfortable. She thanked me even for helping her get her kids in line (by my suggestions) and the Lord brought us together for a reason for us both, and I can't stress enough of howOriginally posted by LaurenfraYou dont have much time with this woman maybe she will learn by you setting a good example.
Laurenfra's advice of setting a good example and as a Christian that's imperative.
