FRUIT!!!! i just dont get it ,i mean i wasnt a great fruit lover first time round so it didnt bother me one bit through induction not to have it,but this time round im literally drooling over the fruit counter in the supermarket ,especially over those furry skinned peaches that i detested before????

I thought it would be hard to get by the bakery section and have those doughnuts wink at me...but never in my wildest dreams did i imagine to be beckoned by a banana lol

LOL, your post made me laugh. I feel the same way! Why is it than when its forbidden it becomes our biggest desire. My mouth is watering at your description of a peach. Maybe because its summer? They don't look as good in the winter.

I think it might be the summer Luckily the local supermarket has horrible looking peaches, not to mention other fruit or I would go right now and get some. I do have the occassional grape.

For me it's berries. Especially blueberries. And watermelon. I do not even look anymore. The fruit is always in the middle of the produce section, so I go around the edges, where the broccolli, lettuce, spinach and zuchini are. Averting my eyes the entire time......

I hear you, girl! I never was a fruit lover. Sometimes, though, I find myself wanting a melon or some strawberries! It's just as well to be without the sugar, especially if we crave it! It means you're REALLY doing a great job if your body cries out for a drug you've really gotten out of your system!

That was the hardest part about starting Atkins in June....it was cherry season

But I managed somehow to get thru it.
Now that I'm on Maintainence I just eat the fruit I want.
I stay away from citrus tho because it causes cravings

I also need to stay away from the corn because it's not doing me any favors.

Just fyi., sometimes (not always), some really cold cherry tomatos will do the trick.

Add me to the list... The thought of eating fruit makes my mouth water. Truth be told, it is what I miss most after having dropped back into induction. I miss my frozen blueberries and strawberries and cream.

                  Re: Insatiable craving for

Speaking of fruit, I thought I really messed up because I went to Wendy's and ordered a Manderin Chicken Salad with Ranch dressing and I ate the oranges. Yes, it was yummy and I thought after I ate it, I goofed up. Then I went into Fitday.com and entered in 10 sections of oranges and it said it was 4 carbs. I don't think there were quite 10 sections in there. It was probably more like 8. Anyway, I ate them all. Tell me I didn't mess up too bad??? I am now starting my 5th week and did three weeks of induction. I was adding more veggies but I guess I cheated a little with these mandarin oranges.

BTW, I am not a big fruit eater either.

My bet is that your body will forgive you and nothing will happen.

Of course, if you wake up in the morning all orange and weighing an extra 50 lbs, I was wrong......<grin>

Fruit will get me every time if I indulge. As they say "Cant have just one". One bite leads to half a watermelon for me by days end.

I too avert my eyes from that section when grocery shopping.

Blueberries, a wee bit of cream mixed with water to thin, and a dash of blueberry davinci syrup. To DIE for!
