A good girl at the Oregon State Fair

Yea, I passed my first big hurdle, and with flying colors!! Wednesday was day 9 for this second time around girl, and I went to the State Fair to see friends perform. I was there 10 hours and along with lots of water, and a bag of crunchy veggies, I bought a polish sausage and a HUGE turkey leg . . . and had a lot of fun.

Not that my mind didn't try to talk me into an ice cream cone or a nice cold beer, but all I had to think about was those 3 days of horrible headaches last week to remind me that I didn't want to go through that again any time soon.

Way to GO! Each time you resist, you become stronger and more disciplined. VERY smart of you to eat something high in protein and fat, which no doubt helped you overcome that silly voice in your head that was saying "icecream? YES".

Thanks you guys! Today I'm planning a nice long hike in Forest Park, I've been in Portland for 12 months now, the park is less than three miles away, and I've never been there - it's the second largest (next to Central Park in NYC) urban park in the country . . . but I just wasn't in a positive mindset until recently, so though I'm not fit enough to make up for lost time, I'm going to give it the ol' college try.

Good for you!! My challenge every year is Oktoberfest in Mt.Angel. They have a certain something (won't say so as not to tempt others) and it used to be tradition to get it every year. I've changed that to "sausage on a stick" is our new tradition! Lol!

Forest Park should be a lot of fun! I've never been there (I don't think) but I've seen it on the news and it's gorgeous. Especially with this nice day we're having!
