Hi everyone,
Whilst i've been away from the boards, I was referred to an Endocrine Specialist due to my weight gain and despite sticking to Atkins and I must admit Weight Watchers diet, I actually GAINED weight and NOT lost it.
I had lots of blood tests as they thought that I was diabetic which turned out to be negative. However, whilst they were checking my bloods they found that I had extremely low amounts of CORTISOL (The STRESS hormone). This baffled the doctors as when you have LOW amounts of Cortisol, the weight should be dropping off you which in my case was the opposite, in fact the weight was and still is piling on. In reality, my Cortisol levels should have been HIGH.
I began doing a lot of research regarding this hormone and found a wonderful website which explains how Cortisol works and it's impact upon our enemy ~ the CARBS
I have pasted the link below and I hope you enjoy reading it as much as I did/do.
