  • Back on plan ... my story

I promised myself I wouldnt be one of 'those' people that went off plan and then struggled to get back but here I am.

I started last July and lost over 90lbs through to March this year.... then I just stalled out.... nothing would break the stall... for three or more months I ate on plan and maintained or crept up slightly and then I just had a craving for sugar that would not go away so out of frustration I fed it .... and here I am about 30 lbs back on. I have restarted so many times in the last few months but only last a few days and I am just stalled.. i dont lose anything. I have realised though that I never really start over I just pick up where I left off which was really a little too many legal foods and I had added in nuts and fruit.... so today I went back to basics... back to strict induction and have survived day one. Water has never been a problem for me.. it is all I drink mostly so that is the easy part. I as at 18 carbs today,, I am back to updating my fitday and trying to use all the tools that worked for me before (like reading the boards here)

I just need all the help and encouragement I can get to make it through this time.. I know I will be strong if I get through 4 or 5 days.. I was heading for wonderland before... I want to see it before Christmas....

I am so hoping the one golden shot theory is false!!!

Hi Ausgirl, and welcome back to ADBB! The one shot theory is only a theory, and it didn't hit me. I lost 21 pounds my first week on induction after losing 107 pounds in 10 months and then outting back over 40 of them.

Everybody's body is different. But I'm not taking the chance that my fat cells are going to just give up the weight easily, either! If we all do it right this time, we'll be so glad that we did!

Welcome, welcome, welcome! SO glad to have you! And of course, we're all in this together, so you can count on us for support.

Make sure you read all of the stickies above in this forum. Especially the slow scale part and the one about measuring every 2 weeks.

ANd post EVERY DAY. MANY TIMES. I think almost everyone here will agree that staying in touch, through the good and the not-so-good, is what keeps us legal and sane.

You are NOT on your own hun. I have been here so many times .

I think what we have to do is not dwell on the past, but start clean and not repeat the same mistakes as we made previously.

I didn't have trouble with the food as such, except had craving for Sultana Bran but I can honestly say, that has long gone now.

The two problems I had were drinking my 2 ltrs plus of water each day and exercise and these two are still going to be a bone of contention with me. However, I am trying to train my brain to welcome and love exercise and even become an exercise addict, lol. So many people have said to me that once they started exercising they could not stop

I noticed in your post you didn't mention exercise, do you do any exercise because maybe that is why you are stalling.

I am going to go to the gym at work during my lunch break, that is the only way I will stick to it. When I get home from work, all I want to do is chill, i'm not the type to be getting home and then getting ready to go back out again. Once i'm home, I like to stay home, lol

Also, try not to beat yourself up, that will just make you feel worse.

Just take one day at a time.
          Love & Hugs

Louise, I'm with ya on the water. It's a real struggle for me and I think in the last month I have failed more than succeeded. However, I keep trying, and I'm determined! What's interesting is that for the first 6 weeks, I was drinking 140 oz a day with NO PROBLEM! Then I suddenly......stopped. YIKES!

Re: Back on plan ... my story

To be honest, it's not just water I have a problem drinking, it's just drinking in general. I just don't really feel thirsty and 3 drinks a day are enough for me.

I don't drink Fizzy pop, just water with lots of ice and a slice of either lemon or orange. I just find it so hard to drink so much
