  • Sunday check-in

    Well, hi there! <waving cheerfully>

I'm sitting here drinking my first cup of coffee and watching a rescue operation on CNN - at least, I hope it is a rescue operation and not a dead body retrieval. I don't know about the rest of y'all, but I have been glued to cable news and when in the car, I have news radio on.

If anyone knows of a way that we can "adopt" individual families made homeless by the hurricane to send things to and help out, would you let me know? We're doing the general donation stuff, but my kids really want to be able to focus their money and attention on one single family as well, for the long-term.

I'm getting my nails done today at 10 (that's my "do something nice for yourself" thing for the day). After that, I need to do some serious lesson-planning for the first days of school. Although the beach is beckoning..............we'll just have to see!

God, I love three day weekends!!!!!! Why don't we have more of them?

I hope everyone has a lovely day. Don't forget to drink your water, exercise, and eat something delicious and legal today.

Hi, Finelly! I can't bring myself to watch any of the news coverage and so have refused. But we are donating to the survivors.

    Things are going well here!

I hope everyone has a snazzy day!

I know what you mean about watching the news. It's so gut wrenching. I made a donation to the Salvation Army and to the Humane Society. Can't forget about the pets! Sitting here drinking my second litre of water. I'm going to clean out the garage...so I'm sure I"ll get my gallon in...and then some. Have a great one all!

        Re: Sunday check-in

Well, I haven't checked in at all this weekend yet. I was busy out shopping at the outlet malls yesterday and forgot to bring my water!!! Needless to say, I did not get my water in. Then this morning I weighed myself and gained .8 lb. Not much but I suppose it is because I didn't drink my water and also didn't eat like I normally do. I didn't get breakfast, had hot wings and salad for lunch and ate the leftover hot wings at dinner. Clearly not enough veggies or water!

I should do better today and drink my water. It is nice that alot of you stay active on the boards for the weekend!!! You are super!

              Hi there
Had a pretty good weekend. Had a sneaky peak at my scales this morning and was sooooo disappointed to see I only lost half a pound. It's my TOM which probaby explains it and I lost 9 pounds last week.
Am starting modified OWL tomorrow. More veg - yay!
              Have a nice day/evening

                Hi out there!!

Hope you are all enjoying the holiday weekend. The temps are wonderful here and its perfect bbq weather. We are headed for one this evening and then its race night Saturday on our television.

Weekend has been busy. Slipped with lunch yesterday afternoon and had chicken fingers and a bottle of water. Bad choices still kick in from time to time. Today is all about the water. Hospital cafeteria choices at 3PM arent all that great and it had been way too long until I had eaten. I picked off the coating but after a bit of that just ate the whole thing. Im an intelligent person. One would figure one would get a hold on ones eating patterns. In the long run I know I will succeed but when I slip it still p***** me off.

If you didnt see my post elsewhere, My niece is in the hospital after jumping from the third floor of her apartment because of fire. She is 5 months pregnant and now has to lay in bed flat for the nxt 4 months until the baby comes as she suffered 3 breaks in her back. No good drugs and no surgery until she has the baby. Its gonna be a long haul for her and any prayers would be appreciated!
