  • Monday check-in

Good morning! Don't you just love long weekends? (you poor Brits.....I'll bet it's another work day for you)

So I'm sitting here with my first cup of coffee, thinking about the day. I have a few organizational things to do, like shop and prepare meals and lunches and snacks for the coming week. EVERYONE will be back at school now, so I'm thinking about enlisting the other people around here to help pack lunches, etc.

There's also a bunch of laundry to finish. (Anyone else around here live wtih people who leave wet laundry in the washer for days, or take dry laundry out and throw it on the sofa and then SIT on it so it gets too wrinkly to wear? That's my teens......I thought I'd be nice and get at least one round of laundry done for them. After that, they're on their own....)

Ok, that's the chores part. But I also would like to maybe go to a movie, take a long walk with dh, have some fun with the kids.

I hope everyone has a great day!

Oh yes, I love the long weekends. I will also be preparing my meals for the week. Tonight, I am having meatloaf with green beans and I made some of the Spongebob bread last night for the first time. Yummy with the cinnamon sprinkled on the cream cheese and a little bit of Splenda.

I also lost another .4 lbs this morning, not much but I'll take it. I haven't lost anything in about 4 wks. so this was nice.

I hope everyone is having a nice weekend!!!

It's a beautiful day here, and yes long weekends are great! Already started my cooking for the week...London Broil and Turkey Burgers.

Made a very early Walmart run specifically for Cat Food...my furry child was getting picky so I got a few different varieties..can't have him not eat as he is diabetic and gets insulin...but it can't be on an empty stomach.

Watching the tennis matches and just catching up on stuff in the house...even a little reading and maybe I'll get to even do my nails

Hope everyone is enjoying the day!

        Re: Monday check-in

I am starting my second week of induction. Blinding headache finally gone, energy back (don't feel like I have 10-pound weights tied to my ankles) and no hunger pains or cravings. Haven't decided what to eat today - I went grocery shopping yesterday after perusing the never-ending recipe thread and got some supplies to try some of the recipes. I had the spinach lasagna last night and it was wonderful - the cream cheese made it so creamy.

Question - what kind of prepared spaghetti sauce do you guys use in recipes? I screwed up and bought the chepaest for the lasagna recipe and didn't read the label. When I opened it and tasted it, it was sweet - yuk, I don't like sweet spaghetti sauce - I like them tangy. I figured oh well, the whole recipe only called for 1/2 cup - I checked and 1/2 cup was over 30 carbs! The 3rd ingredient was corn syrup. I tossed it. I got out an 8 oz. can of tomato sauce (4 carbs) and threw in some seasoning and simmered it for 5 minutes and called it good.

Today, I will be doing battle with my marine aquarium. I converted my 75 gallon fresh water aquarium over to a salt water fish-only tank and it has been quite the experience. Hopefully today I can get some cheap fish to cylcle the tank with. I scavenged used parts off of eBay to save money and it has been a challenge to get all the pieces and parts to work. Also, I will be shampooing my carpet - fun, fun, fun, he he. Even though this is a rent house, I can't stand to walk on dirty carpet.

Day 6 of re-induction & so far so good. My allergies are kicking my butt, but other that that I am feeling great. Not sure what is on the menu today as I don't have much of an appetite, but I do have some ground beef thawing right now so I'll probably whip up something with that later.
I have TONS of laundry to get thru, but think I will let it sit until tomorrow & just take it east today as I'm not sleeping well because I'm so conjested.
Hope I feel better soon, I REALLY want to start exercising agin, but I know that would just be silly while I am under the weather.

                Lauren

Iwant to be on that beach with his brother! But I spent the day at the hospital. I am finishing up laudry this afternoon and thinking up a schedule for laundry and dish duty for the week. Im not gonna be cheif cook and bottle washer here now that I am back to work. DD does her own laundry. DS is in the process of it. That is a big help in itself.

Now I am off to get some cooking done for meals this week.

I chilled today with family. Stayed on track, and I feel good getting all the compliments from people who haven't seen me since I was at my starting weight. One Aunt even had tears in her eyes, telling me how beautiful I look again.
