I started Atkins last November (2004) and 'made it' through Thanksgiving and Christmas...I've stuck to it fairly well despite the fact that I am one of the very slow losers (lost hardly anything in induction). This summer I feel like I've fallen off the wagon...stopped eating breakfast...sometimes lunch and then really hungry by dinner. Am eating Atkins foods (with the exception of 1/2 c. rice once or twice a month) - just too much cheese/nuts. My formal exersize level is low due to back injury from a car wreck. I eat one type of 'frankenfood' (blue bunny bar) and I use the no carb baking/batter mix about 2x per month. Diet 7-up too...maybe 3 cans or less per week. I usually make my 8 or better glasses of water each day.
I checked out Curves and the local YWCA but the programs won't work with my schedule and location. I'm thinking I need to go buy a treadmill this weekend and try to up my exercise rate.
My age and TOM/pre-menopausal stuff is driving me crazy. In August I gained 10 lbs and have just now returned to my pre TOM weight. At first I thought, get off that scale but I accept that I need to know what my weight is on a regular basis (to avoid the near heart attack I had in the dr.'s office last November when I climbed on the scale). I am very tall and medium boned.
I have lost inches - down from size 22 jeans to 18 jeans (I can get into a 16 in better quality - still the 'fat lady' size though). I do not have diet support (a friend was doing Atkins but then would call and tell me about the Little Debbie's she ate...argh...and the husband has developed a rabid taste for candy, chips and pie). The diet of choice in my rural area is WW and I have stopped even mentioning my Atkins choice. I have been a loyal lurker on this board for the most part.
I need a jump start - and I don't know what it is. Constructive suggestions? Thanks.
