  • Thursday Check In

    Good Morning!!

    Im ready to head out for work with my jicama, tuna salad and 80 oz of water (the last 20 I get at home), it is pizza day at work so I may have a bit of pizza cheese & toppings for good measure today.

    I dont know about the rest of you whom also have returned to work for the school year but I found myself not so happy to get out of bed this morning. But I think that brisk air outside will help on my way to the car!

    Good morning!

    I am feeling much better today. Think I must have eaten something funny yesterday.

    It's a lovely sunny day again here in the UK which is nice for this time of year.

    Have had bacon and tomato for breakfast am about to have a salad for lunch (prob tuna mayo) and then chicken for dinner with cauliflower faux mash.

      Terry - OMG. We hit the snooze button TWICE today. It was PAINFUL to wake up! lol.

      So Tom arrived last night, and although I sorta expected it (since all of the girls in this house are coordinated) I had no prior ANYTHING. No bloating, no crankiness, no headache, no cravings other than a brief temptation 2 nights ago to have a cookie. How odd! 'Course, I dosed myself up immediately with ibuprofin so hopefully no cramps today, lol.

      I've got lunches ready, drinking my coffee, and the hair straightener is heating up. I went to bed with wet hair and O.M.G. I look like ......what do I look like? Let's just say all of my long layers are, um, sticking up. If I was a society woman in Texas, all I'd have to do is apply massive amounts of hair spray and I'd be good to go.....

      My one problem this week is that I haven't been able to work out due to after-work errands for the kids. However, I'm doing a lot of walking at school including walking laps at lunch, so at least I'm moving.....I will definately work out this weekend and see if I can't coordinate the plans better for next week.

      I hope everyone has a great day! 2 more before the weekend..........!!!!!!!!!!!

        morning. i'm just waking up before i head off to campus to meet with a prof. i miss the lazy days of summer already. i can't wait for the week to be over!!!! i went to a "butts and gutts" workout class yesterday and OH MAN. my butts and gutts are feeling it haha. alright happy low carbing everyone. one more day til friday!!! have a great day.

          hi all!

          things are going all right today. I've been waking up early so I'm getting progressively more and more tired since I am going to bed at the same time! Silly. I'm just not tired for some reason.

          have to get a bunch of work in. So, i'm going for a run to wake myself up, then showering, then working. Swimming at 7. We'll see how it all works out!

            I'm a little late checking in today...back to work and hard a rough time getting up this morning...still not sleeping well during the night. When it's time to get up that's when I want to sleep

            Other than that...doing well...already on second 25 oz bottle of water. Packed 3 meals today as tonight I go to my second job....Bacon and fried eggs for Breakfast....London Broil and mushrooms for lunch and turkey burger/sauerkraut/salad for dinner.

            No exercise this morning but will walk at lunch. Lots of work to do at the job as things pile up from the days I took off....but it was worth it

              I am licking my wounds (don't wanna dwell on it or talk about it) But I sense there are siamese attack cats outside my window staring me down as I type this...(sigh) anyway back to the old drawing board...8 lbs of water weight to lose after a 4 day abuse cycle...chug a lugging my water more than ever natch.

                LOL! You gotta have "big hair" if you are going to be a woman in Texas politics - just ask Ann Richards!

                Well, I am suffering with a bad cold today - my 11th day of induction. I hardly ever have to give presentations in my job, but of course I have to give one today. I guess I will snuffle my way through it. At least there won't be any upper-management types there.

                Sipping my water and eating my leftover chicken florentine......

                  Didn't check in yesterday. But checking in today. Still with the WOL and I ain't near perfect, so you know what that implies, otherwise I'm straight and happy with the loss I've had thus far. I will continue but I'll focus up hopefully tomorrow or sometime before Monday. Ciao

                    Okay, checkin number two, since I've been falling off the wagon every night for 3 days in my attempts to rejoin the land of the low-carbing!

                    Today, I did GREAT! I had: some polish sausage for breakfast. Hambureger and green beans for lunch. Dinner is going to be tuna fish salad. Exercise included a 2 mile walk/run and a 1 mile swim (in 45 min!). Feeling awesome (and oh so tired) but that's a great feeling too!

                      Back in to check on you all.

                      Star...... Here's a {{{{{hug for Star}}}}} and a "sick those cats on her Fin". That outta cover all the bases.

                      Knick.................. Keep on and it will come. I still struggle at times but keep throwing myself back on that wagon. My butt is getting sore from all the plunking down I am doing each time I hop back on. I firmly believe that we fail only when we give up. I am not giving up.

                      Nikki... Ditto for you too! I think you have been under some added stress lately ..... Hang in there.

                      Sarafina........ hope you are feeling better soon! My DH is just beginning a nasty head cold.... Im not sure I want to sleep in the same bed as he is with all the coughing sneezing he was doing today.

                      Spikette and Fin........... So glad tomorrow is FRIDAY!!!! Im beat and am headed to bed in just a few minutes.......... but not until I check up on all of you. Havent had much time since I have been back to work so its time to see how all of you are getting along.

                      I made it almost completely cheat free today. And am about to throw out all traces of coffee, cream cheese, splenda and sour cream in my house and ban them from coming back. (Of course I began my day at work today making 120 chocolate chip cookies and 75 blueberry muffins for today, then 75 servings of jello for tomorrows meal. It was the blueberry muffins that got me. And I am not pleased with myself in the least.)

                      After those cats are thru with Star........... Im thinking you ought to send em my way so they can peer at me from the kitchen window over my desk in full view of my kitchen all day long while I am working. Let em scratch a nail or 2 on the window pane to remind me that they are there with those low carb, stop eating stupid, death rays beaming directly at me.

                        Ok, I did NOT feed the 6 attack siamese cats dinner, so they are out hunting down Star and Terry. Drooling at the thought of their tender flesh..........Knick, you're next, followed by Nikki. What is WITH you guys? You LIKE being a kitty snack????????

                        I had a good day. My feet are hurting because, OMG, this is SO weird, MY SCHOOL REQUIRES THAT TEACHERS WEAR SHOES! Freaky. I didn't wear shoes all summer, except the occasional flipflop when I went out.......my toes do NOT appreciate this at ALL.

                        I'm finding that if I my lunch as four snacks, I have tons of energy and am never hungry, which is good, because there's a lot of work to do during recess and my lunch period, and I don't feel like sitting down for an entire meal.

                        This is my first week on OWL and I'm not really doing it the way the book says. I just added 5 grams of veggie carbs every day, because, quite frankly, that gets me just above 20 grams of carbs per day and I know from experience that I can eat at least 45 and still lose.

                        Still no exercise at the gym but I put on a pedometer today and I walked about 3 miles in class as well as bopping over to the office, and supervising p.e. So I'm not going to sweat it, though I want to get into a routine next week if possible.

                        Water is going well, because I tote 4 bottles to school and keep them handy to take a swig from. My students are all copying me so we have bottles on every desk!

                        I want to tell you that last year was absolutely horrid for me. I moved to a high school closer to my home and thought it was the perfect teaching position, but it turned out to be cold, impersonal, and utterly lonely. By May, I found that I was turned off to teaching, felt no challenge or desire to be motivated, and was dreading every day. In desperation, I bid for several jobs, and this is the one I picked. I truly wasn't sure whether I'd like it, as it is an elementary school and not the same population I am used to teaching (I used to teach emotionally disturbed kids, and this class is all "merely" learning disabled kids). Much to my suprise, I absolutley ADORE the school, the staff, the atmosphere, the teaching, and the students. I'm in LOVE LOVE LOVE!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I am just so damned happy these days, it's really a joy to be alive!!!!!!!!!!!

                              Late, But I'm here.
                              Was a good day, had eggs for breakfast, a salad w/ cheese & salami for lunch & some steamed cauliflower & bunless burgers for dinner. I am finally getting over my headcold, so I will be able to kick the exercise up a notch finally! I am feeling so good, I know my clothes are feeling better, can't wait for them to start getting loose
