  • Friday Check In

    TGIF everyone. This is the last day of my vacation, back to work on Monday. Why does one week of vacation go by so fast, yet one work week seems to take forever? I'll never understand it.

    Well, I had my interview with the Judge yesterday (was originally Wednesday but go moved). I think it went well. He said he was impressed and that he'll make his decision within two weeks. Keep your fingers crossed for me! I would so love this job.

    How is everyone else today?

    It's Friday!!!!!!!

    Remember how I said TOM arrived two days ago with no symptoms? Well, it seems to be going BACKWARDS now.......TODAY I am bloated. Fingers and toes like sausages! TODAY I have cramps! Go figure! lol. I'll up my water intake and make use of the ibuprofin. Let's just hope I don't end up with POST-menstrual syndrome...........

    I'm feeling like parts of life are not in control. The "running errands and getting things done after work" part. Actually, the "time for me to just unwind" part. I'm going to try to spend some time this weekend figuring out how to do things more efficiently, because I really need to be able to come home and be a person rather than a housekeeper, etc. This will mean, of course, organizing the KIDS, which is sort of like herding cockroaches......or cats.........

    ....this may be harder than I think. But I was able to do it in prior school years, so........keep your fingers crossed for me! Part of it, I think, is that we are all (since 5 out of 6 in my family are in school or work in a school) mentally exhausted at the end of the day after a summer of NOT working, NOT thinking too much, and sleeping in. I recall as I write this that it takes about 3 weeks to get back into the swing of things.

    I'm worried about those of us who are having a bumpy ride right now on the Atkins woe. Do you guys think it is the coming of fall, or the end of summer, or back to the school routine, or something else entirely? Whatever it is, I'm here for ya. And I hope it doesn't happen to me, but if it does, I know you are here for me, too.

      hi all!

      today is a great day. I am so sore I can hardly move, but it feels so good. I'm thinking of taking a rest day from the exercise but on the other hand I want to continue the momentum! Oh, the decisions!

      My ex called me last night as I was falling asleep and I made the mistake of answering the phone. *sigh* I wasn't in bed yet. Little did I know that he wanted to TALK again. I think he finally got it though - I'm not getting back together with him. So, I need to make sure to keep my head on straight today and not let him affect me. I was so agitated when I went to bed last night.

      It's incomprehensible to me how people don't understand the consequences of their actions - he doesn't UNDERSTAND how his behavior over a year and a half can't just be erased because he's 'different now' or whatever. *rolls eyes* Unbelievable.

      Anyway, I've got a good day lined up for myself I think. I'm feeling good and I'm pretty sure I'm back in ketosis too! yay!

        Hi everyone & happy Friday!
        About to hop in the shower & just thought I'd pop in for a quick hello. Have my salad all packed for lunch, and planning a marathon grocery shopping spree this weekend to stock up on meats & veggies. I am finally sleeping better (induction flu goves me retless nights) and am really looking forward to the weekend now that it is a little cooler out her.

          Hi Everyone

          Hubby flew off on business this morning :-(

          Went for lunch with a friend - had ploughmans without the bread ie a few sticks of celery and some cheese! Filled a hole.

          My sister is coming round tonight - she is on weight watchers so I told her to bring whatever it is she eats with her! The two WOE are not compatible at all!

            Good morning everyone! I exercised for an hour last night for the first time in AGES! It feels so wonderful to be back in the swing of things again. I feel invigorated! My hubby and I always had a tradition around me exercising-- I'd walk on the treadmill and we watched "Buffy the Vampire Slayer" everynight! I have missed that more than I'd ever thought.

            Last night was the first time in months that hubby and I both looked at each other, me sweating bullets after putting in a hard-fough 780 calories, and said, "I really missed this!"

              Well, my head feels like it is in a vise... *snuffle* *snuffle* *sniff* bad head cold or allergies, not sure which. I am having a salad with chopped smoked brisket for lunch and having steak for dinner, so I am not letting this cold stop me from staying on track.

                Hi Everyone and Happy Friday Finally slept a little better last night and felt quite refreshed this morning...for a change!

                Had a great breakfast...Mozzarella/Pepperoni Omelet and Bacon. Will be going out to lunch with my friends at work...a nice diner type place and very easy to stay legal.

                It seems like every few days or so I get sugar cravings...yes I've been fighting them and not giving in but it's strange. I have nothing in the house that isn't Atkins friendly so that make it easier...and when I feel like this I won't stop at any stores...why put temptation right in my face, right?

                Gym tonight after work....treadmill and lifting....always look forward to that!

                  Hi all! I'm home from school, but getting ready to run daughter to eye doctor, then drop her off at a football game, then run in to Walgreens, then come back home and collapse and perhaps go into a coma.

                  I had a great day teaching. Really really love that place.

                  At about noon, I realized that I had inadvertently not brought one of my tupperware containers so I had nothing to eat on the way home. I've been eating every 2 hours or so during the day which keeps my energy up. Well, so at 2:30, there I was in the car, not feeling HUNGRY exactly, but having very fond thoughts about cupcakes and icecream sundaes.

                  Luckily, I realized immediately what was happening (low blood sugar) and I said nice things to myself on the way home (45 minute drive) and as soon as I got into the house had a piece of swiss cheese. Feeling MUCH better now! I'll have some olives before I jet out of the house and a nice dinner when I get back, either before or during my coma.

                  Well, if having a messy house were the type of thing to set me off into binge-land, a la Cleochatra, I'd have eaten an entire baskin robbins by now. OMG. It is embarassing. You have not seen anything like this. Really 3d world refugee camp sort of thing. Luckily, I just tell myself that I can clean all day tomorrow and that it's ok to be too tired to deal with it right now.............(Finelly is an excellent procrastinator on weekdays, but not weekends!)
