  • Too many calories?

    Hi there!
I just entered my food into fitday.com....It says I will be eating 2100 calories today...That seems very high! I will post what I am planning to eat and please let me know if I should tweak it!

Breakfast 2 egg omelette with cheese/ham sour cream and salsa (about 2 Tbsp of each)

    snack 1 HB egg

Lunch- salad with avocado, olives, roast beef and Ken's Steakhouse Creamy Italian

Snack pepperoni/ swiss cheese slices (2 oz cheese)

Dinner Chicken wings(10) and broccoli (1 cup)

    snack 1 HB egg

Is this too much? Thanks for your help/advice.

    Re: Too many calories?

2100 calories is your basal metabolism for your current weight? Frankly, I'd say that so long as you're eating to satisfaction and feel well, there's nothing wrong with eating--say-- 1600 calories a day, especially if you exercise. Too low a caloric intake and your body thinks it's fasting, do beware of this, too.

Granted, proteins and fats take more effort for your body to break down, so you can eat more calories on this way of eating and still lose weight fairly effortlessly.

If you feel you are attempting to stuff yourself, are eating beyond being satisfied, or simply feel you can't eat that much because you feel full, don't push yourself. Anything you don't feel hunger for isn't what your body requires for survival.

Some random thoughts: reduce your sour cream to 1 Tbsp, or get rid of it altogether, especially if you are experiencing cravings. Salasa + sour cream in one sitting might make your blood stream do the cabbage patch, especially if the ham is processed.

Don't eat above 10 olives per day.

The broccoli alweays makes me hungrier (it might not you, though. Just keep watch).

Eat to satisfaction, but not to hit an arbitrary recommended BMR. If it doesn't feel right physically, don't push it... but don't starve yourself, either.
