I have a sis who just started Atkins and someone sent her that letter that was bashing splenda, it has her horrified. Now I know that there is a thread disputing this, but I can't seem to find it, can someone point the way please? Thanks

You know, Splenda folks say that their product has been on the market for decades without problems, but it is processed with clorine. I use Splenda myself but I do worry about taking anything in my body that is organic and natural.

Chlorine objections?? you have got to be kidding. Table salt is nothing but sodium and chlorine. Chlorine is a needed element in the human body. there was some fear because pesticides are hydrocarbon-choride compounds but many yrs of testing showed Splenda wasn't a pesticide.
some people are going to have reactions to any compound. I'm allergic to soy and have horrible symptoms if i consume anything containing soy, but that doesn't mean soy is a dangerous food for everyone.
To date there isn't any FDA recall of Splenda nor any banning in forgein countries where it has been in use longer.
The manufacturers of Equal objected to the Splenda commercials as misleading cause they implied Splenda was a naturally occurring compound since it was made from natural sugar.
Some of us are Splenda challenged cause the very sweet taste sets us of on binges but that is called a cephalic responcer and has more to do with us then the Splenda.
