  • Need Flax recipe(s)

I've really discovered that I love flax! I've made the flax crackers before, and now this week, I'm making something like Flax-O-meal that tastes delicously like cream of wheat! I'd love to try these "flax muffins" that I keep hearing about, but haven't found the recipe yet. Anyone have it handy?
I'll take any other great flax recipes too.

Go to the seach and type in raspberry flax muffins. Those are great!!! Also spongebob's bread is great with some cream cheese sprinkled with cinnamon and a little Splenda. I think Brook posted that one! Just do a search on them. If you can't find them I will go home and post them for you.

Go to the Recipes database (link at the top of the page) and type 'flax' in the search box for several good recipes.

I have just bought some flax powder so I can make these recipes.... I hope this is right and that I shouldn't have got flax seeds?

          Got it! Thanks y'all.
BTW, do you have to make these with Atkins Bake Mix? I don't like how it tastes, if it tastes anything like the faux bread. can I substitute something else?

Atkins Bake Mix isn't allowed on induction I don't think. Check in the food and chat section cause we have some great chefs, cooks and just plain great folks who monitor that forum that have tons of ideas Then of course, you need to come back and share anything great with us LOL

Flax seed meal is flax seed that has been ground up. Maybe the flax power that you have is the same thing as flax meal. It looks like a course type of flour. It that what your flax powder looks like. It should work fine if it is the ground up flax seeds without anything else added.

Thanks Pjade - it is just ground flax seed (no other ingredients). I think they just call it powder instead of meal here in the UK.

I've moved onto owl, so I'm not worried too much about the bake mix. The original recipe calls for "protein powder," which from the thread it seems that she meant "Atkins Bake Mix," but I wanted to know if I could use something else. Maybe I'll hold off on making these after all.
