  • My list of positive things

    Woke up this morning feeling really discouraged about stuff. I found myself, however, doing something automatically during the morning that was really healthy (!): I started listing, in my head, the positive things I've accomplished or that exist in my life. Here's part of my list:

    - I've lost 18 lbs.
    - I can wear my size 14 pants, skirts, and shirts
    - I'm taking really good care of my skin - and it shows.
    - I'm doing a great job teaching
    - my kids know I love them deeply and unconditionally, even when they are $#@*(&% like yesterday.
    - my husband knows I am passionately in love with him
    - I've made many new friends
    - I know my strengths and my areas of need
    - I can be vulnerable with people I trust
    - I have people I trust to be vulnerable with
    - I have not cheated once on this woe
    - I'm happy with the food I can eat
    - I adore my students
    - My students adore me
    - There's enough gas in the car to make it through the week
    - I get to have cheesecake pudding tonight

    Thanks, Finelly for starting this. I've been sooo down lately about so many things, I really do need to take stock of all the positives in my life.

    Here we go...

    - I'm healthy physically, mentally and emotionally
    - I'm a very strong, giving, kind, and loving person
    - I'm a good daughter, sister, and friend
    - I'm blessed with wonderful family and friends that support me in all my endeavors
    - I have a very good job that I don't always love, but I do love the people I work with
    - I have lost 27 lbs (and counting) and found a new healthy way to live!!
    - I am loving my new way of life, especially the strength training!!
    - I have a roof over my head, clean clothes on my back every day and shoes on my feet
    - I have never known hunger
    - Even though I am struggling financially sometimes, I always seem to have just enough
    - I helped raise a very strong, sincere, caring and wonderful younger brother that I am proud to claim every day, whether he is on my good side or not
    - My father finally has the care that he needs 24 hours a day and I'm less stressed about his welfare
    - I am blessed to know God in my life

    Thanks again for this opportunity to reflect on all the wonderful things in my life!!!

      I am healthy and even though I am overweight, I am in good enough shape to exercise.

      My sons are healthy, well-adjusted and I am proud of them both (even my 20 yo whom I would like to wring his neck sometime….)

      I got to my pre-pregnancy weight ONCE in the past, so even though it has been a long time, I KNOW I CAN DO IT AGAIN.

      I have a good-paying job, a roof over my head, a decent car to drive and a wardrobe of smaller jeans just waiting for me to fit into.

      I am truly blessed by my family and the support they give me.

        Sarafina - MY 20 yo son is ALSO a pia!!!!!!!!! I'm thinking of putting mine up for adoption today.........lol

        But seriously, my dh just informed me that I left off one important Positive Thing from my list: I am beloved by him and the rest of the family. Isn't it interesting that I omitted that?

            Now let me think....

            Oh!


            Drinking my water
            And hard boiled eggs
            Thinning about
            On my arms and my legs
            Spicy chesse omelets
            And Chix' chicken wings
            These are a few of my positive things!

            Glycemic-low berries
            And chopped up tomato
            bratwurst with sauerkraut
            And pizza alfredo
            Walking 3 miles
            And water drinking
            These are a few of my positive things!

            When the carb bites
            When my knees sting
            When I'm feeeling sad!
            I simply remember these positive things
            And then I don't feeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeel so bad!

              Cleo...you're amazing Once again that was sooooo cool!

              Now...some of my positive things.

              1. Great friends who are always there for me...If it weren't for them, I wouldn't have made it through some very rough spots.

              2. A great job that I love and I work with a lot of nice people. I never mind going to work. It also pays decently too!

              3. I am basically quite healthy physically and have become mentally strong.

              4. This WOE has done wonders for me...I look better and feel better. Never drank water like I do now and my skin is showing the results of being properly hydrated.

              5. In previous years my cat spent a lot of time at the vets...overnight stays and weekly visits. Now it's almost two years and everything has been under control and he hasn't been back to the vet since That makes us both happy!

                That is a great way to stay motivated, if you make thinking positive a habit eventually it will be.

                  The Holy Spirit strengthens me each day!!
                  I have a wonderful husband, child, home, and job!!

                    I am feeling positive because...
                    I am a Christian overcoming todays worldly problems
                    I have a wonderful family
                    I have a husband that supports my woe and Loves me above all else
                    I am losing wt. and getting fit.
                    I am learning how to take care of my body
                    I have a wonderful family on this board that has given me strength to succeed.
                    And many more to boot....

                      thanks for your post, I've been going through a negative trend lately, and it was nice seeing someone point out their positives. I definitely need to do that more.
