Well friends, for my 1000th post here at ADBB, I thought I would share with you my struggle and then triumph yesterday at the movies.
Hub and I had had a VERY stressful morning, and were about to rip each others heads off. (Together 24/7) So we cooled off long enough to decide to spend the entire afternoon and evening going to movies. Anything to get us out of the office/house. We never go to movie theaters anymore and needed to break the routine. I knew that it would be very difficult for me to resist the popcorn and junk food. I was sure I could do it though and we went to the first movie Batman Returns, by far the best of the 3 movies we saw yesterday. everywhere I looked were people stuffing themselves with popcorn. The smell was overwhelming. I had to REALLY focus on the movie because I realized that I was becoming fixated on everyones darn popcorn. (weirdo I know)
I shifted in my seat alot and finally was able to concentrate on the movie and enjoy it. I was glad I had eaten 3 stalks of celery and smoked salmon cream cheese before I left the house.
Then we went out for a buffet supper, i figured there MUST be something I can eat on it, but whaddya know, all loaded with sauces and crap and it wasn't worth it so I skipped eating and drank my club soda while hubby ate. He was very uncomfortable with that but what can you do? The guys gotta eat. I decided I would wait til I got home. It would be late but at least I knew I could eat what I have in the fridge.
Sat through 2 more movies, Emily Rose and Wedding Crashers. Emily Rose was kind of disappointing but then I'm an Exorcist fan. Guess there isn't as much thrilling scary stuff when its a true story. Wedding crashers was pretty funny. The popcorn was calling to me and hub was trying to hide his junk food, I told him to relax and that I could handle it. By the time we left the theater at almost midnight, I was feeling all powerful.
The whoosh fairy must have agreed that I was very strong yesterday. She must have sensed my determination to NOT give in. I woke up this morning expecting to be up a pound for eating so late. 4 pounds down! Wha? I couldn't believe it!
So I am doing alot of booty shakin tonight here in my office to celebrate. BTW Anyone else watch Rockstar INXS faithfully or am I alone on this rockstar island?
Just wanted to share my happiness with you all because its all of you that make me wanna do this. MMMWWWAAAAAAAAAAA

And... big congrats on the 4 lb loss!! Nest time you're in the company of popcorn, I'm sure it will be even easier to resist after this.
