  • Saturday check in

    Good Morning!

Im up and about and feeling the benefit of my 7th back on track with a strict induction! Yay!! Gotta love the appetite suppression. HAVE to LOVE that appetite suppression!

I put a nice roast in the crock pot for dinner. Making an egg stratta for work this week and for a good first week of induction a bit of cheese cake pudding for a once a week treat.

Its kind of a rainy day here so its a good day to catch up with the houswork and get it out of the way.

What are you all up to this weekend? Any special plans to prepare for to stay true to your woe? Drinking your water? Taking your supps? Exercise?

And especially important..... Any special plans to pamper yourself and take care of what is most important?

Im going to soak in a nice long bat with a good book, scrub, exfoliate, slather cream and paint finger and toe nails.

    Hi EVeryone!

Well, what have I done? I have chicken breasts already cooked, one hamburger patty left to cook, and a serving of lamb and green beans all ready to eat. Today is leftover day! I also bought more cheddar bratwursts for breakfast as I had ran out, and I've already grilled them (and am eating two RIGHT NOW!). *stops to take a bite*

I'm about to start working on my paper and send it back to my co-author. I have a whole britta filter full of water next to me and have already had 24 ounces (I only woke up 40 min ago!).

I pampered myself last night by reading a cheesy romance novel until 3 in the morning. I've put all my music into winamp and am listening to it as loud as I can take it. Once I"m done with the paper I may go swimming if I feel up to it. Otherwise I"ll probably take a walk, although it looks rainy outside so we'll see. At least it stopped being ungodly hot and humid!

      Re: Saturday check in

I feel good this morning. I had 2 low-carb beers last night (3.4 carbs each) - my first "treat" since I started 3 weeks ago and I was afraid to step on the scales this morning. Told myself I was not going to get on, but I did anyway. I am a shameless scaleaholic. Well, I was glad I did it, because I had a 1.5 pound whoosh! I have been creeping along with no loss for over a week, bobbling up and down with the same half pound, being strict with my carbs, and it finally paid off. I finally got into a smaller pair of jeans yesterday and instead of being real tight, they were comfortable - I couldn't even get them zipped a little over a week ago.

I am going to brave our favorite mexican food restaurant today. My skinny fiancee is having withdrawals, so we are going. We usually get the cheese sauce, so I am taking my pork rinds to dip in it. Their fajitas are wonderful, and we usualy split the fajitas-for-one. My fiancee is trying to keep his carbs under 100, so he is switching to corn tortillas and limiting it to 2. I am afraid there won't be enough meat without all the carb-filler tortillas or chips beforehand, so I am going to order the fajitas-for-two and see how we do. I plan on having mine nekkid (no tortilla), without beans, with cheese and salsa and a little bit is guacamole.

Good Morning! Well, I am having my coffee with a slice of Spongebob's Flaxseed Bread and reading ADBB posts. I am going out to dinner today at the Casino for all you can eat seafood buffet. I can't wait to dig into the shrimp, crab and butter!!! I'll be going out with DH, mom and her girl friend. It will be my mom's and her friends birthday dinners. I shouldn't have any reason to be tempted by any other foods there since there will be so many yummy things I can have. I always love a good salad bar too.

I am going to try and excercise when I get back tonight, maybe do my WATP 2 mile video. I will try and drink all my water too.

You are a brave woman, Sarafina. The Mexican restaurant proved to be my downfall TWICE this spring. I only meant to go off-plan for the one hour (a la Carbohydrate Addict's Diet) but it led to one day, one week, one month.....

That's a brilliant idea to take the pork rinds!!!! I'll do that next time I get dragged Mexican!!

I'm making pork spareribs for tonight (Saturday is my only day to cook, really) and I guess I should boil some eggs for deviled eggs for lunch, my hot dogs were swiped by DH who does not need to lose, but is low-carbing for his cholesterol levels. That is, when it's convenient for him.

But I'm really really really really really really HUNGRY.......

I love reading these uplifting posts! Everyone seems to be so upbeat today. Me too! I've been browsing the forum, looking for new recipes, etc... I've eaten my eggs and bacon, drank some water and now I'm gonna go to the gym.

Today's grocery day... I have NOTHING to eat in this house! I'm dragging my hubby along for entertainment. Hehe

Weighed today and I'm down 6 lbs for the week. Woohoo!

            Have a good day everyone!!!

Pray for me. I'm baking a huge cheesecake for my son's birthday party today. And if I do say so... they're pretty ding-danged yummy.

smaller: EAT!!! make yourself an omelette if you have eggs! You're not going to make it if you're starving. You should make sure you're never hungry, especially in the first few days of induction, otherwise EGADS.

Cleo: you can do it! Given how much weight you've lost in a ridiculously short amount of time, I am pretty sure you''ll resist without even blinking.

                    Re: Saturday check in

                    Good morning!

I've already been up, run errands (including dmv to find out what to bring so my daughter can get her learner's permit on Tuesday) and am back home and it SMELLS, so I THINK (correct me if I'm wrong) that that means I have to change the litterboxes.........

Also the rest of the house needs a thorough organizing (yet again) and that is my job today, so that I can have a free day tomorrow with dh, who doesn't work for once!

I'm still parked at the 200 mark, and I'm thinking if nobody lends me money to build a house here, I'll just drag over an easy chair and an ottoman so I can put my feet up. Standing here is getting OLD OLD OLD.

Later today I get a manicure and pedicure to pamper myself. Also younger son is going to FORCE me to go to Starbucks later (omg, the sacrifices we parents make!) to sit in the sun with him and chat.

I have hardly any good food in the fridge that is pre-made, but plenty of eggs and cheese and veggies for an omelette, etc. I'll be shopping and cooking for the rest of the week later today. (did that make sense?)

                    Terry - you're on a ROLL!
Knick - keep up the good work!
Cleo - Maybe the trauma of having to bake and not eat a cheesecake will help you find a sense of humor. That would be nice. I worry about you because you are so danged intense and serious all the time...

It is very determined. Got it's teeth clenched, arms and legs wrapped around me, and not letting go.

But I've got its number........because although it's annoying, the weight is not really what I'm focussed on. Today I put on a large size 12 skirt, and it fit. So who CARES what I weigh?

                        HAH! SO THERE!!!!!!!

                          Re: Saturday check in

                          I hate hate hate eggs.

An omelette would be worse than starving so I toughed it out and got busy outside where there's no food except jalapenos and parsely. Now I'm ready to go to they Y and re-start my water exercises but my DD won't go with me. Since it takes so much gas to get there, I'm using that as an excuse not to start today. but after being outside weeding I could sure use a cool swim, and a little help for my back!!!

Yeah, this UPbeat thing must be catching, the exercise part of this is not scheduled until NEXT week!! What am I thinking?!?!? I should start something mild in the way of activity (besides weeding) while I'm in the mood. Heaven knows THAT'S rare.

Lunch: Pork rinds with Ranch dip made with the sour cream I was saving for cheesecake.

Cleo: Praying for you!! You can do it!!!
Today or tomorrow I have to make cookies for a church thing Monday night, and they didn't sound very excited when I said they might be low-carb. I'll do PB cookies, they are less tempting than others. I'll be fine. The grapes in the fridge are more of a danger.

This morning I didn't have a lot of energy and I was sorta thinking that I might not accomplish what I wanted to do.

Much to my suprise, by 5 p.m. not only had I cleaned the house, but I had rearranged the furniture in the living room, dining room and study. Go FIGURE!!!!!

I also got my pedicure but had to postpone my manicure until tomorrow due to crowding at the salon. I just didn't want to wait - wanted to go back and move sofas around! lol

So it was a good day. Now will someone please unclog the kitchen sink so I can do dishes?
